110 POINT WIN BUT.....................

Post: # 1562007Post CURLY »

Win by 110 points and lead all the stats yet again lose the free kick count. Next reason we dont get looked after like other teams please because flogging a side means your first to the ball.

The Essendon crowd helps but again we got screwed over. The dogs went from getting screwed over to getting the better end of the frees now. I think there is a perception of shitness that is tainting the way they officiate our games. Hopefully the juggernaut catches the green maggots in its wake.

I liked the way the game was umpired yesterday. No complaints from me.

I think the umps invoked the mercy rule. Obviously a few sympathy kicks for Essendon, yet more evidence of umpiring bias and lack of professionalism.

The 50m penalty to Heppel was a standout.
Fair enough if the umps were taking the hard line but the ball went straight to him and bounced short of him as he was moving backwards...But not 5 minutes later, the same thing happened to us but, lo and behold, no 50m penalty.

Not sure how a team can have 444 possessions, 142 of them contested and 61 tackles yet receive only nine free kicks for the entire match! As I've always said, it's not the ones they get but the ones we don't.

Now would be the perfect week to front the AFL on our poor performance with the umpires.
Either the players are doing something wrong or there is a bias against us. I'm pretty confident it's not the latter so we need to address the issue.

Umpiring seemed fine other than that ridiculous 50 metre penalty.

Yeah that one was a joke - and then it happened at the other end and we missed out.

The returning of the ball 50 against then no call our way 5 mins later, epitomises the frustrations we all feel. It's not a intentional bias, the opposition always seems to get the benefit of doubt.

Plus the free against Ross for holding the ball with zero prior and cooney jumping on his back.

Yes we were first to the ball... and second, and third.

Hard to give away free's if you don't touch them.

It's easy to handpick a couple of decisions that might not have been there. Gilbert should have been penalised for holding onto Hooker and the free against Baguley for tripping was line-ball.

Agree.

One of the hardest games in the world to umpire, I reckon.

I've got no complaints about yesterday!

Should never have been paid.
But when the same thing happened to us a bit later it wasn't paid.

That sort of inconsistency is what frustrates fans.

There was a few cases where the ball carrier took on a tackler but wasn't paid despite prior opp.
Some blatent deliberate oob's weren't paid this week but would have been in earlier rounds.

50 then non 50 was pathetic. Rest of the game I thought was pretty good.

The 50m penalty against us was ridiculous but Sinclair was also lucky not to get called for running too far when he slotted that goal from 50.

Absolutely! He ran from the centre circle to the fifty metre line without bouncing it. That must be 30 metres.

Yep.

Don't agree. The 50 to Heppell was dicey, but the non 50 was a valid decision. Lonie actually duck out of the way of the ball trying to get the 50 metre penalty.

Lonie is turning into a Ballantyne type stager. Tried to get a free reversed when Bagauly hit him in the shoulder, went down like he was shot.

Needs tog et this out of him game

Wasn't a free in the first place, and later that quarter a bomber did the same thing to Lonie without penalty.

Doesn't really prove that it was umpired badly, as it is rare that the free kick count would be dead even. Would 13-9 make it ok?

Unbelievable!

Curly would still complain even if it was 14 to 9 our way.

Curely you have a genuine sickness. Im worried for you. last week we won the free kick count but were dudded. This week we lost it and were dudded. The last 2 games have been umpired fantastically. Its that simple.
