Membrey
Based on today's game think he has the ability to be an out and out star.
He's shown in patches that he's got good hands and came with raps over his kicking which has let him down but I expect him to show the same improvement as Bruce has shown this year and really make an impact on the competition next year.
Think Aaron Hamill is the perfect mentor for the role we need him to play.

Fair game today, but Tim Membrey to Aaron Hamill is like Adolf Hitler is to Tony Abbott.

Re: Membrey
He covers some ground too.
Roo, Bruce and Membrey are all terrific at
- working hard to present themselves as attacking options
- providing defensive pressure up forward
- covering ground to provide defensive support when the opposition have possession
I guess with Roo they have an excellent role model.
Members has terrific hands as well.

Re: Membrey
"Fair" game???????????????
I've been tellin' ya the boy will be a gun forward. His TENTH AFL game today and, with last week against the Bulldogs, proves he is on the up and up.
Perfectionist, you are either (a) very biased for an unknown reason; (b) have no clues about football; (c) have had a drink too many, or (d) all of the above!
Crucial to our forward set up and win today and still elegibile for a Rising Star nomination.

Re: Membrey
Was vg in the 1st half today, that's how he needs to play.
Keep presenting and compete at more and more contests.
Needs a good one next week to back it up again….
McCartin will grab his spot if he drops off...

Re: Membrey
Really like him... Was critical today at the start when the pressure was on
What he needs to work on is finding a way to involve himself in the play when we don't have the run
Obviously he's young and improving and doing great... he drifts in and out of games a little too much at the moment (game 10) - not a criticism

Re: Membrey
Started well but needs to find a way of getting easy possessions. Hopefully will become a regular. Like many its probably a little to early to tell.
Re: Membrey
Was another good game from Members. Provided a good link between 50 arcs just like last week but also hit the scoreboard. What's he played 10 games. Kids going great.

What similar? Or just a few years behind where he got to?
Re: Membrey
As I said last week, his main problem is converting his chances. He will get there but needs to spend time kicking goals from regular angles. It is hard to simulate match day pressure when kicking at training but perhaps the following simple method would work:
After training, Membrey cannot go inside until he kicks 10 consecutive set shots from 40 metres out 45 degree angle. The first few are without much pressure, but as he gets to 6, 7, 8, 9 goals there is growing pressure not to miss and start all over again. If he does this regularly, who knows, his match day goal kicking might improve?

He's running so much he's blowing up by the time he lines up. He is working him self hard but its at the cost of his set shot accuracy.

Re: Membrey
He's a livewire with good hands.
As I'm sure he knows by now, his position in the side in that role will hinge on him hitting the scoreboard regularly.

Re: Membrey
He plays the role gunston does at the hawks i believe lead up mid sized mark, stkilda looking a bit like hawks 2013 with 2 dominant forwards and a thrid tall forward. I think membrey may be a little low on confidence in front of the sticks so hopefully he gets his head space right and starts nailing the easy shots because it seems like he can nail the hard ones!

We sat behind the goals and he was sucking in air so hard he looked unsettled at times. He is woking so hard he can't get his heart rate down when he lines up in front of goal.Die Hard 7 wrote:He plays the role gunston does at the hawks i believe lead up mid sized mark, stkilda looking a bit like hawks 2013 with 2 dominant forwards and a thrid tall forward. Membrey Helping St.K. Bigtime
At the very least he is helping the coach and team realise the next move fwd. Of coarse there is a lot more in terms of skill and presence that is making Members a vital cog in the St. Kilda fwd. line.
Enjoyed members positivity and being switched on early.

Re: Membrey
very impressive for his age an his number of games played! Would love it if he can develop into spending time on ball because he looks a good field kick and very strong build.
