Lonie felled behind play?
Did anyone see this incident that sparked the minor argy bargy. Got up pretty gingerly, which suggests it wasn't a minor incident.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
I think it was Dempsey but it was a jab in the guts with a fist but we were behind the goals so was a long way from it. Looked like he should get two weeks with 1 off for an early plea. Dumb move as it fired him up. He is so like Milney, shitting the opposition constantly. They were trying to intimidate him all day but he's harder than most guys twice his size so they back off when he gets in their face.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
Looked like he was punched in the shoulder...........may have taken a bit of dive to milk a free (reverse the fact that bombers were having a shot at goal).
not sure if deflected of top of arm/shoulder into his neck/chin

He must have really milked it then because he stayed down a while. I goes to show how different angles make the difference in how it looks. It looked like a punch straight to the stomach from where we were but it was around the middle of the ground so a long way from where we were.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
He got an elbow to the guts first and then a swinging arm to the shoulder, I reckon it was the gut hit that took a few secs to take effect, then went down with the shoulder punch

It was higher than the stomach from the footage I saw but not sure where the blow landed. It definitely rocked the little fella. Shame he couldn't nail the goal moments later to stick it up them.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Bounced off the shoulder into his neck just below his ear if his indications to the trainer are to be believed.Selhurst Saint wrote:It was higher than the stomach from the footage I saw but not sure where the blow landed. Did not see it.
But was at the game, and Lonie was just in front of where I was sitting looked stunned or winded when I noticed him just afterwards,

Start that rubbish and will be like the boy that cried wolf, like Schneider.dragit wrote:Swipe to the shoulder, then a soccer dive.
Lonie has inherited quite a few of milnes tricks.
Then we can all get on here and complain at the lack of frees!
Was hoping that Milne would take his staging with him when he retired.

Looks like Schneider is really taking Lonie under his wing. He's diving now and he kicked 1.4 on the weekend. Leave him alone Schneider.

I think Dragit is being mischievous there. Lonie is the size of my 10 year old son playing against much bigger bodies. He was sniped by a couple of teams this year and takes the hits and jumps back up and goes again. He certainly isn't making a habit of it. If anything he's doing well to not let them rattle him. One of the funnier spectacles yesterday was Lonie had a bomber opponent come up and start pushing him in the chest so Lonie swatted his hand away a few times then started getting up in his face verbally harassing him- he ended up trying to get away from Lonie who was a head shorter than him.

Re: Lonie felled behind play?
Happened right in front of me.
Lonie was jogging to the centre and Bagualey gave him a strong hip and shoulder which was clearly audible. Lonie appeared to remonstrate and then dropped like a sack of potatoes after getting a backhand slap to the shoulder. I reckon it was the hit in the guts that put him down. Should have been a free for mine, miles off play and against a player who wasn't bracing for contact.
