Just back from the game, so emotion is pretty raw. Haven't read most of the posts on this topic but thought the topic headline was perfect.
1. Extremely proud of their effort
2. Disappointed to lose
3. Fitness of the players is superb
4. Not many 12 months ago would have thought we would be this competitive
5. Lack poise when it counts
6. Coaching is first rate
7. Ahead of schedule
8. The players have an enormous self belief
9. We will have enormous depth in 2 years

At this pseudo mid season break I thought it was appropriate to post about how proud I am of the way the boys (and club) is going about it this season.
The manner in which we're playing, the endeavour, courage and belief has truly been on display. We could have easily sunken to new lows this season; the pressure was on from the punters and press.. it would been easy to turn up the type of football we've seen from Carlton Essendon, the Gold Coast and to a lesser extent Brisbane and Melbourne.
I don't care what anyone says, developing a winning culture is far more valuable than a prize pick will ever be. I hope we continue to build on the spirit and momentum at the club and am confident we'll draft and trade well no matter our ladder position.

The whole club should watch the film McFarland - about a bunch of no hoper Mexican kids in the USA who took on the elite and became perennial champions for years. It's our story in the making.

Title says it all. Huge emotional roller coaster for the ENTIRE club this week and I reckon in the eyes of the football and non-football community we were winners. Yep, for sure we didn't get the four points but really in the scheme of things it doesn't make much difference this year. Proud of the club, the players and the supporters.

Take a win every time. But sometimes in a young developing team coaches will experiment with game plans, player positions, tempo etc. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Hopefully all part of a successful master plan.

Exactly but before the game this week you like most will be hoping we beat Melbourne. if we lose we then look at the positives but surely not before the game.

You can take it from me though Hitlercat, we are looking like we are less s*** than we were and are going to get better as some of the kids get more experienced and we add quality to our list. Yes, its true I'm quite a visionary.
