Agreed!
Only if he hasn't been involved with any of the after hours activities up there.
Have you seen the recent photos of Bennell?

Isn't he meant now to have long-term injury issues that will hamper him?

Ruptured patella sadly the bloke won't get to his potential. Could've been another Ablett.

Agreed, highly unlikely to make it. Really unfortunate.Old Mate wrote:Ruptured patella sadly the bloke won't get to his potential. Could've been another Ablett.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
What's the difference between a ruptured patella and ACL in terms of seriousness?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Some data re ruptured patella tendon: a less common injury so less data available, and likely for him a greater risk given he has had previous surgery for tendonitis, but it seems most players (NFL and NBA) known to have the injury and who have had seasonal data on their output recorded get back to their previous standard.

Welcome back stinger.
You sure you haven't been in Columbia with the rest of the boys.
I was there a few years ago. Only time I ever visited a coffee shop with an armed guard.

Gordo sounds nothing like Stinger. For a start there is humour in his posts. I would have thought you were closer to Stinger.

It's not hard to work out , what with Sting's real name and all the , FFS and flowering going on.. Either that or it's someone with a duel nick, taking the piss.
I would rule you out though, as you are not clever enough.

To hell with "poaching/recruiting" a Gold Coast player. Let's recruit our OWN stars via the draft.

Pretty spot on there Jiggster. Club has put in a lot of man hours at the Under 18 champs. Picks 2,3,4,5 for the club will be pivotal. It won't be for a lack of due diligence. First round picks are usually pretty certain, the gems are in the lower picks. Club is really ultra professional at the moment. You'd be proud. Let's hope it pays off and we get that little luck that you have to get.thejiggingsaint wrote:To hell with "poaching/recruiting" a Gold Coast player. Let's recruit our OWN stars via the draft.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Generally I agree with this. Relying on other clubs players is a fools paradise. Judge each player on his merits and the draft is always your best option (Jack Steven pick 40 something?). On the other hand Roberton fell in our lap and Bruuuuuuuuuce came relatively cheap. Just keep your wits about you just in case.thejiggingsaint wrote:To hell with "poaching/recruiting" a Gold Coast player. Let's recruit our OWN stars via the draft.

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Good post. Any tom, dick and harry can get the top 10 picks right - getting the 2nd and 3rd rounders sorts out the sides and shoes why Elshaugh is so much better than Peake. (Montagna, Steven, Fisher) Webster, Ross, Lonie, D-Mac, Acres etc are the blokes that lift us from being ordinary to contenders.tony74 wrote:Pretty spot on there Jiggster. Re: Jaeger O'Meara
I take your point Con but Judd and Bartel ahead of Ball and Clarke would have been handy too.

All clubs are professional though. Bit of luck involved. Same recruiters didn't do much in 2012. Anyway we should be looking at any way of getting nre players. Don't buy this own players crap. Look at the hawks. They recruit from other clubs all the time.

Our three biggest mistakesborderbarry wrote:I always wanted the club to take Cyril before Ben. oh well.
1. Ball before Judd
2. Big boy before Rioli
3. Cripps before Darling.
And it's not hindsight either. A fair number on here wanted the club to do some or all of the above.
