reciprocal rights for Bulldogs members. Should be 37,000.

Re: Guess The Crowd: Saints vs Footscray
Anyone know how many Saints members in attendance?
If it was a reciprocal game the crowd was awful. Hawks vs Cheats got 62K same arvo.
We need some media inquiry re the crowd.

Yes it was a reciprocal game for bulldogs members........
hence my comment in previous thread..........there was probably more bulldogs fans there than saints.
26, 511 a very poor crowd given members entry for both teams.........

Re: Guess The Crowd: Saints vs Footscray
Yes, poor effort by our supporters last night. I expected 37,000 because of the reciprocal rights for Bulldogs members. One possible reason for this is that the Frankston line was down due to maintenance on the tracks. No trains between Frankston and Mordialloc, which probably accounts for 3 or 4 thousand mainly St Kilda supporters not attending.
But some of our supporters and members need to start turning up to games. Understandable that we are not setting the world on fire but we have shown a bit recently and if we want a team to support, we need to get along and support them. It was a Saturday night so no excuses about the kiddies needing to get up for school in the morning, or because of missing the Sunday roast at home Mothers Day or the like. Bit of a pathetic effort TBH.
We will go the way of Fitzroy and South Melbourne if people don't start turning up.

Re: Guess The Crowd: Saints vs Footscray
that figure is artificially boosted by AFL members and MCC members, most of whom are theatregoers and go to the blockbuster games, but I agree, it is a real worry that our supporters have dropped off so dramatically.saintspremiers wrote:Anyone know how many Saints members in attendance?

Re: Guess The Crowd: Saints vs Footscray
Frankston, Cranbourne and Pakenham Metro Railway Lines were not running due to maitenance on the signals. Replacement buses were irregular too on some lines. I had to catch one up to Mordialloc but I was lucky. People coming from Oakleigh, Lyndhurst, etc struggled. Probably cost 10,000 people making it.chook23 wrote:It was 7, 1?? up on the screen at game...can not recall last 2 digits.saintspremiers wrote:Anyone know how many Saints members in attendance?

I take back the 'pathetic' comment. Three railway lines were not running in the Saints corridor last night. That would account for thousands of people not being able to make it.

Re: Guess The Crowd: Saints vs Footscray
Agreed and what the AFL and Metro seem to miss its not the extra football services getting into the game, it's getting home and if you live in Frankston or Pakenham ,midnight is probably about the end of the line, hence not many kids or seniors.samuraisaint wrote:Frankston, Cranbourne and Pakenham Metro Railway Lines were not running due to maitenance on the signals. It's sometimes a service even worse compared to a normal peak hour service and it's something the AFL has to address with Metro management.
