Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contract
Schneider got the nod for the rest of 2015 and Sinclair gets rewarded with a 2 year contract for 2016-17.
Win win and a good decision.
Schneider continues to mentor and develop our young players and Sinclair works hard at Sandy preparing for 2016!!
Sinclair is a great pick up from the rookie list.

Re: Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contrac
Happy with that. Would love to see Sinclair play but Schneider is important and I think has actually been pretty good.. Sinclair locked up and will get plenty of games.. I am just so happy about this club and feel so proud and positive... I feel like we are building a close, strong club and the players are bonding together and playing for each other and will only get stronger.. Dunno why I am saying that here just want to get it off my chest.

Re: Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contrac
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/s ... hwv5m.htmlSt Kilda believes the current restrictive rookie list rules are due for revision, disappointed that they have been forced to choose between promoting Adam Schneider or Jack Sinclair back onto the senior list.
The Saints are expected to nominate Schneider as the club's mid-season rookie elevation on Thursday, provided he gets through the team's training session.
But the club has also rewarded Sinclair for his promising start to his career with a two-year contract extension.
St Kilda chief operating officer Ameet Bains said the club was disappointed it could not keep both players in the team, but that the new contract reflected Sinclair's strong start and potential.

Re: Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contrac
Good on Adam for turning it around
I for one have been extremely critical of him... Not because i don't rate but this is how he should have been playing over the last 3-4 seasons. IMO said criticism has been justified but kudos to the man for bouncing back.
Still the hard work can't stop here for him. At his age with Sinclair, Lonie practically commanding spots in the first 22 with guys like Minch, Saad, Membrey etc waiting to come in, Adam is 2 bad games from finding himself under pressure again. That's the reality of older players.
He's earned the spot... Now keep it

Re: Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contrac
Congratulations Jack Sinclair.
Has done enough in half a season to get a 2 year contract and probable elevation to the Senior list.
The sky is the limit young man.

Fair call. Schneider has played well enough the last month to earn the spot and finish his career officially as a Saints player.
Sinclair - well what a year already. Came from a long way back. 2 year contract a no-brainer for him.Comes back as a 21 yo next year rearning and ready to go.

Poor decision. Schneider doesn't cut it in the midfield and is hopeless as a fwd

Re: Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contrac
First off kudo's to skeptic and Con.
I think both of you were harsh on Schneider earlier in the year, but you have shown to be fair and can change your opinion on a player. Well done guys.
Secondly congrats to Sinclair on the two year extension. Totally earned. And Gershwin, I believe he will be elevated next season.
And Schneider is a worthy elevation to see out his career. His experience is obviously something that the coaches believe is more important at this time of the teams development.
We get shiny new toys next season. Sinclair, Goddard, McCartin. Probably wont see much of the latter two this year, but can expect them to be regular features next season.

Averaging 20 possessions as a mature midfielder is hopeless.plugger66 wrote:#gosaintas wrote:Poor decision. Schneider doesn't cut it in the midfield and is hopeless as a fwd

As a goal kicker he's a choker.
No upside in playing him.

He plays forward of the centre. He isn't a true mid or forward. Been very good this year. I didn't want him to be rookied but unlike you I don't watch games with a bias that makes it impossible to have a sensible conversation with you.

Re: Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contrac
The rules regarding rookies is a joke, I can understand having a rolling inactive list for players not available for selection, but with Sinclair in our best 22 and on the rookie list, some guys playing 2s who will never get a senior game are essentially stunting jack's development. I think it is so backward and flawed. if we wanted to say make Tom lee unavailable for selection at AFL level this week and Jack could play it would make so much more sense.
Note: no disrespect to Tom lee, just an example of a guy i feel won't play much senior footy but is on the primary list

Re: Schneider gets elevated and Sinclair gets 2 year contrac
Not the decision i would have made, but I trust Richo and his team to know more than I do.
I would have let Jack finish off the year in the seniors, and let Schneider do his mentoring and teaching during the week, and play down at Sandy. I was always supportive of the club picking Schneider as a rookie, as long as he wasn't going to take games away from a promising youngster, which is exactly what's happening now.
But Sinclair has plenty of time to play senior footy, and Schneider can keep mentoring Jack Lonie in the seniors, and both can be really important to us in 2016 and beyond.

An opinion can still be wrong but that would be beyond your thinking. If I said Plugger IMO was a poor FF then that is clearly wrong. I have an idea if you don't like what I post put me on ignore as you say you have done many times. I would put you on ignore but your posts provide a huge laugh on a sometimes down day.
And if you actually bothered to read what I said then will see I gathered it was an opinion but a poor one. Now run away.

I am fairly certain (90%) Schneider has said this will be his last year. I doubt this is in dispute or even contentious.bergsone wrote:I may have missed this, has Schneider said this will be his last year ?

It certainly should be his last year. Its vital the club stagger the retirements of the older players.
