In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Heard Finnis on the radio the other day going on about how we've got a full list to choose from , then two days later there are all these withdrawals .

I assume it's because Goddard is guaranteed to be around next year, but Shenton still has big question marks so deserves the chance to prove himself.BringBackMadDog wrote:How shenton gets a game ahead of Goddard defies logic

There is no way Shenton's place on the list is in danger.bergholt wrote:I assume it's because Goddard is guaranteed to be around next year, but Shenton still has big question marks so deserves the chance to prove himself.BringBackMadDog wrote:How shenton gets a game ahead of Goddard defies logic

Re: Billings Out
The Saints now have a bye but expect to have Sam Fisher (hamstring) and Dylan Roberton (foot) available for their June 27 clash with the Western Bulldogs.
However, Jack Billings (shin soreness) is rated only a 50-50 prospect at this stage.

Re: Billings Out
Don't be surprised if Billings is out for a while.
Have been told it is a stress fracture so depends on severity of it.

Is it "shin splints" or an actual stress fracture?1966 wrote:Don't be surprised if Billings is out for a while.

I was reminded that Jimmy Webster suffered from this when he first joined, not unusual for young bodies:

Well at least we have plenty of potential options to bring in: Sinclair, Schneider (one of them to be elevated), Roberton, MCKenzie...or just give Minch a few more games to show what he can do.

Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Re: Billings Out
Never like injuries but they are actually kind of important to young teams to allow for a natural rotation of the squad to see who can play and who can't. If not for injuries the career trajectory of Sinclair could easily have followed that of Minchington.

Re: Billings Out
Not a great sign for Billings. He's had a good start to the year though and will still benefit from all the time in the gym he can get for another few years.
I'm expecting to see these changes for the Dogs (not that I agree with them)
Out: Shenton, Minchington, Acres
In: Fisher, Schneider, Roberton

Re: Billings Out
I'll be very disappointed if we play a backline with Geary, Dempster, Fisher and Gilbert in it. Very disappointed.

Agree - may as well get bloody Gwilt back. Absolute pussies our selectors.Con Gorozidis wrote:I'll be very disappointed if we play a backline with Geary, Dempster, Fisher and Gilbert in it. Very disappointed.

Why? It still leaves 2 younger guys. We don't have to be young all over the ground. Lets face it they will be in the backline if Fisher is fit. There is no rush to blood young tall backmen.

Even without Fisher it's dad's army back there, he's been injured for a month. Time to bring back Gwilt.plugger66 wrote:Con Gorozidis wrote:I'll be very disappointed if we play a backline with Geary, Dempster, Fisher and Gilbert in it. Very disappointed.

Re: Billings Out
The great thing is with our clown selectors, last year we were selecting Gwilt and leaving Simpkin in the twos, this year Gwilt gets delisted and Simpkin is in the twos. Maybe we should bring him back if fisher retires...would be crazy to pick a backman from Sandy to fill the holes in the shortarse dad's army defence.

Yep the selectors are costing us games. Different selectors with a better side got us 5 wins in 2013. Maybe just maybe they know a few more things than you or me or anyone else on here about our side. I certainly wouldn't be arrogant enough to suggest I know more. it seems you know more. Must be on the inside.
