Listen to the crowd go nuts, listen to all the poster on BF love winning, imagine how valuable a lesson that is for young players.
THAT is footy.

Re: Game Thread vs Melbourne
Gutsy win - a big confidence builder - Dees came back at us and kicked 6 straight in the middle stages but we dug deep and fought back and never gave up
We had 100+ less possessions but 16 more inside 50s which i guess means we were stuffing around with it less and going more direct
90 mad tackles as well

Re: Game Thread vs Melbourne
The last quarter was awesome. Felt like a final. We at the ground were simply willing the team we love to win
We couldn't give a flying f*** about draft positions or the fact we are unlikely to make the finals this year. It was simply living in the moment and pure footy at it's tensest best.

Great effort by Jack. He was hampered early it appeared with a sore groin but got it worked on on the bench and began moving better in the last half.plugger66 wrote:You can never beat pace in a game like that. Jack has it. We need more of those players.

When all of our players (bar Riewoldt) are performing below standard and we still manage to scrap a win, that is a good sign.

I thought that was a pretty good quality game, both sides looked ok which makes you think why did we go down by so much to Hawthorn ??

Josh Bruce & Membrey need to learn how to get separation from their opponents. Both are allowing their opponents to engage them and out position them early. Membrey is too bulky he needs to get leaner and take a leaf out of Armo's book. Bruce opponents are taking away his run at the ball and is now wanting wrestle. Plus Roo is taking any leading space he had, Roo needs to be conscious of this and give each other space!

Re: Game Thread vs Melbourne
He rucked and spent time away from goal which seemed dumb. Our midfield was well held and we lost the quality forward entry. Thought Membery was excellent.WinnersOnly wrote:Josh Bruce & Membrey need to learn how to get separation from their opponents. I think Bruce may have caught teams by surprise early on.
They are probably now putting a lot more time and effort into understanding and nullifying his strengths,
Will need to keep evolving his forward's bag of tricks to stay one step ahead.

Indeed but no different to any other player.whiskers3614 wrote:I think Bruce may have caught teams by surprise early on.

Being down in the midfield and just bombing it in to a stacked back line didn't help his cause.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Re: Game Thread vs Melbourne
I think some of our guys have to stop thinking of the team thing if they have a chance and timing right have the shot at goals don't try and pass it cause it generally is stuffed up......eg Bruce trying to pass to Roo when he should have just kicked it himself.
Re: Game Thread vs Melbourne
Can't stop watching the replay of Richo going nuts after Joey's goal.
Love it.
Love it.
