It will be Goddard instead of Lee, but I'd prefer Lee to Goddard!

That leave us with 21. Surely the AFL will know we are tanking.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
If Gilbert comes in off two VFL games, solid without being sensational, makes the 'VFL form counts for a lot' line even more of a Furphey!! Surely after the best part of 2 years out, he should spend longer in the 2's...were not talking about a Judd, or a Cyril Rioli! Hasn't done enough IMO to walk straight back in, nothing against Gilbo personally, agree with Richo, he will make us a better team when he's got a solid 4-6 games under his belt without interuption...but for him to get a magic carpet ride back into the 1's...there'd be some dissapointed other i reckon...anyway, he's not been named yet so might amount to nothing.

Looks like Gilbert will play!
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Massive in IMO. If Oxley could do what he did against the Dees last week, imagine how many intercepts Gilbert and Dempster could share.magnifisaint wrote:Looks like Gilbert will play!

He is a very good player though. We wouldn't have had Lenny Hayes, Fisher, Joey etc wait too long and he is probably in that group as far as his ability to improve the team.

Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Which team though. He basically hasn't played any footy with the 'rebuilding team'. He was an important cog in those challenging years and no doubt is a good player who when fully fit and with plenty of footy under his belt, should be in our current best 22...but hes hardly played any footy in 2 years!! thats a long time, and a couple of mediocre games in the 2's...not enough IMO to warrant coming straighht in.Milne wrote:I think a lot of us forget how important Gilbert is to the team (even with his poor disposal at times). Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
I actually agree with you Gringo, that when he's fully fit and firing, even though i wouldn't put him in A grade category like a Hayes or a Fisher or even just below that a Monti...given he's in his 'prime age category', he can actually have a very big influence on our team balance, therefore as big an impact on the team even though he's not an elite player...my beaf is with his lack of match conditioning after the best part of 2 years out of top shelf footy...I just think from a total body conditioning and match conditioning perspective, it's hugely underdone and would hate for him to breakdown again...he did his groin in his first match back for peats sake!gringo wrote:Saint wagga wrote:If Gilbert comes in off two VFL games, solid without being sensational, makes the 'VFL form counts for a lot' line even more of a Furphey!!
