Re: Changes next week
Minch has to be in surely? A week or two off footy wouldnt hurt Sinclair. He has a had a good run for his first year.
Newnes has been disappointing this year but cant see him being dropped.
Weller and Dunstan will be back so I guess Ray and Acres are vulnerable . I'm not sure we can continue to play two ruckmen if they are not contributing.
In: Weller, Dunstan, Minchington
Out: Sinclair (rest), Hickey, Acres
p.s
A midfield of Weller, Dunstan, Ross, Armitage is a tad crab-like but that is what we have at the moment. We need to recruit another outside mid.

Re: Changes next week
I'd like to see Dunstan back, as well as McKenzie and possibly Weller.
It would be good to see Goddard get his chance, and I'm keen to find out if Lee can play.
Both our ruckmen are struggling.

Re: Changes next week
I tthought Ross had a fair game considering it was his first for the year.
Out... Hickey Delaney Acres
In...... Goddard/Lee Membrey Weller

Re: Changes next week
Don't like the idea of dropping Ray or Schneider. Schneider has been one of our best all year and Ray is still streets ahead or Wright. The balance between youth and experience still has to be monitored. Wright, McKenzie, Shenton all fight and rotate for positions.
Sinclair has shown plenty in goal kicking terms, but doesn't get much of the ball. Wouldn't mind seeing Minch get a go, will be spewing if Templeton comes in again before Minch, we know what Templeton provides, same as Shenton. We need to see if Lee/Minch ect can offer more.
We have too many medium running defenders.
Out's
a ruckman
Shenton - Good back up player, looks super slow at average skills and can't see much upside from what he produces already.
Sinclair
In
Weller
Lee
Minch

100% agreeSainterK wrote:Why was hickey subbed, give the ruck a chance in the ruck
Why play him forward when he is clearly a ruckman, only to sub him without giving him ago as a ruck.
I understand needing another tall for structure, but he offers next to nothing.
At least give Lee, Membrey or someone else ago (Yes I know Lee is playing backline in VFL but that doesn't mean he forgot how to be a forward. Him getting the third defender is a good thing)

Hawks supporting hubby asks me what's the coaches fascination with Bill?
Give the vest to a ruck sure, but not Hickey.
Bills inability to take a contested mark baffles me given height.

Re: Changes next week
Hickey clearly had a leg injury of some degree. He was hobbling at three quarter time

Ray like Schneider
Ross - need to get games into him, will be our next Armo
Shenton - not in the best 22
Outs
Hickey, Lonie, Shenton
Ins
Dunstan, Goddard, Membrey Weller
Lonie will be a very good player but was nowhere to be seen at Bruce's feet - Milne would have kicked 6 tonight. See if Membrey can play like a small forward should.
Goddard should get the gig ahead of Shenton
Dunstan comes back in
You are garbage - Enough said

18 touches
10 contested
3 clearances.
Dunstan has been off the pace most of the year. People have short memories on Saintsational. Let Ross have a fair crack at Dunstans spot and let Dunstan work into some form in the VFL.

What is the point in swapping Dunstan for Ross?dragit wrote:In

Like for like players. Dunstan has been ordinary for most of the year. Let Ross havea run and let Dunstan find some form in the VFL.
Re: Changes next week
Goddard to debut, great week to
Cam to swap with him cause of height only
Out Longer, Shenton, Schneider
In Membrey, Goddard, Weller
Wouldn't mind Minch getting a turn, at who's expenses?

Re: Changes next week
Amazing how people view things. Thought Shenton was good again, Ross to me looked out of his depth and we will ruin Hickeys confidence and trade potential playing him forward. He's a ruckman, let him ruck.
Out: Ross, Longer, Sinclair( due for a spell)
In: Dunstan, Weller, Membury
Missing Stanley unfortunately. Our relief ruck/forward position is a big worry. Don't want Bruce rucking, he was spent late in the game, but I'm not sure of any other option. Longer/Hickey isn't working.
We also don't have any better clearance players to bring in. Smashed in that area today.

Sinclair, he's had a great run and exceeded all expectations. Hits the scoreboard but doesn't do much else. Is going to be a player, but we need to find out if Minch is a player as well.SainterK wrote:Goddard to debut, great week to

Plenty of young guys with potential player, but plenty of players we still need to see play!!

Re: Changes next week
Zero tackles as a midfielder is just not good enough... I'd like to see Ross find some serious form in the vfl before playing seniors.saintjake wrote:What is the point in swapping Dunstan for Ross?dragit wrote:In

Gilbert & Weller are streets ahead of Ross at this stage, minchington probably deserves a game before him too... Dunstan while out of form has more credits in the bank than Ross IMO...

Might of been a better sub option for his first game back.

Re: Changes next week
The Changes that should happen...:
In: Weller, Membrey, Gilbo/Lee/Goddard(2 of them-would like all 3)
Out: Ross,Longer, Sinclair, Shenton
What they will more then likely do:
In- Dunstan, McKenzie, Weller,Membrey
Out: Acres, Shenton,Hickey,Sinclair(back to RL - its Round 11 or Schneids only 1 can stay)
Schneids has had a great year, started slowly in the first quarter and was good after that

Re: Changes next week
I thought Ross was pretty good, Ray and Schnieder were very good. Shenton was given the ridiculous task of minding Gunston...the fact he only got a few goals was lucky. Shents did okay considering. The score line didn't reflect the way we played. We actually were really unlucky with the forward line not scoring easily not helped by never getting frees for the hawks illegal negating techniques. I was actually impressed with how we played at times. It sounds crazy after a 10 goal loss but there was not that big a gulf. The umpires and a bit of arseing goals helped blow it out. I thought we were probably around a 5 goal worse team on the night. I reckon we are 2 years from being a better team than them.

A ten goal loss says we can improve.

I thought Acres came back very well after a nervous start and if we are going to drop a ruck it should be Longer. Delaney did okay under difficult circumstances considering how often the ball was coming in.
In: Goddard/Lee, which ever they reckon is closer to senior football; Weller, Gilbert.
We badly lacked height in defence today and really missed Weller, who would have played on Mitchell. Gilbert comes in because he is a good player with runs on the board
Out: Shenton, Longer, Sinclair RL
