Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead
Wasn't it a dispute over Pokies that sent us down to Seaford in the first place.
I would like the Social Club restored where you could go and have a nice meal, or watch an interstate game on an insanely large TV.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Anyway here is an anti pokie article about the bloke trying to stop them.

With supporters like that who needs enemies?
Has the guy even bothered to understand the financial implications for the club?
Calls the club "lazy" but doesn't actually propose any solutions - just get rid of them.
Don't let a small matter like the existence of the club get in the way of riding your soapbox and getting your 15 seconds of fame buddy!

Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead
Well as plugger said, the area/municipality is allowed just so many pokies and if we don't have them then someone else will. This guy needs to be trying to ban all pokies in Victoria or Australia the fwit.stjay wrote:Playon wrote:Well it seems we make over 2 million on the pokies, I don't see how we could go without them at this stage.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead- Hawthorn to Dingly
Could any trouble ahead be because of Hawthorn`s just released statement that they will be moving from Waverly
to Dingley by the way which is only a short distance from us at Moorabbin.
Look`s to me any moves by the Hawk`s into our area would lead to a large financial loss of the Saints.
Will the AFL be reimburse us for any losses?

It says it 'raked in' 2.0m. Not an accounting term. I wonder if that is turnover?stjay wrote:Do you mean where the figures quoted in the paper came from?Verdun66 wrote:I would love someone to show me where the figure of $2.0m profit out of pokies comes from.
Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead
Yep you're right its revenue of over $2m - with reported costs of $800k - so net $1.2-3m.Verdun66 wrote:It says it 'raked in' 2.0m. Not an accounting term.
