Very impressed with Webster
As the thread implies, I've been mega impressed with how jimmy Webster is coming along this season. His disposal by foot and hand is looking super clean and decision making much improved. His courageous ness is unquestionable and he seems to be keeping his feet better...I've been pretty tough on him to date, but he's quickly leapfrogged savage and Shelton and wright and is going to leapfrog Geary in the selection pecking order pretty soon Imo.
Hope he keeps improving, great for our team

Re: Very impressed with Webster
Agreed he is doing well - I would like to see him have the confidence to back himself in marking contest more. Otherwise he is developing well hopefully he can go into the midfield down the track...

There's a lot to to like about Webster. Moves well and uses it well. I keep pairing him woth Newnes, possibly because they came out of the same draft. Think they'll both be automatic selections for many years.

He's upped his game defensively. A few times I thought he looked like Hudghton's fist of fury.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

He's spoiling, closing speed and aggression is amazing.
As is his kicking.
Has an all round game - he accumulates possessions as well while outside the midfield.

I have them as our back flankers for the next 5+ years. I rate these two so highly.remboy wrote:There's a lot to to like about Webster. Moves well and uses it well. Websters a favourite of mine
he can play tallish and small, runs straight at it, and as others have said his closing speed is a feature.
He is something different, hard for the opposition to read….

Re: Very impressed with Webster
I have been a fan from last year. Speed, agility, clean hands under his knees, superb kick. He is a seriously good prospect. Lonie and Mc Kenzie are the 2 others that are top shelf for me outside of the elite Billings. Sinclair is not far behind.

Re: Very impressed with Webster
Agree. Was especially impressed with how effective his skills were this week. Love the way he goes about it. Gives us some real dash and can hit a target coming out of defense. Hope Jimmy really keeps improving with the more games he plays. I think he has a really high potential compared to many his age. Can see Jimmy being a really important player for us during his career.

Re: Very impressed with Webster
I had over the top expectations of him so am actually a bit disappointed in his output. He has a huge amount of potential to become an A grade player. He has made a few skill errors this year which was not part of his game last year. I thought he and Ross were almost ready to explode this year.

Re: Very impressed with Webster
We are not half way through the season yet, so there is still plenty of time for Jimmy to turn it on, or up a notch. And I think Seb Ross will be an important part of our mid field for years to come.
