Yes - about 15-20 off to the side/behind.

From the video on the AFL site it doesn't look good.
If there is actual contact I'd say 3-4 weeks.

If the guy is ok it'll be 3 down to 2. If not, 4 to 3.

He can spend his time out practicing his kicking. He nearly missed the ball twice today while trying to kick. Once under no pressure at all. In fairness he has been doing a good job though, but his kicking was off today.

Should get. 4 weeks , we would be outraged if the hit was on one of our youngsters.

He was being held back, so I hope it's treated as "in play".

Going with this as well, pretty dumb considering spots will be getting more competitive.

None.

Or, if he changes his name to Steven Baker, nine weeks!

I've seen Selwood do that plenty of times to a tagger, however, I'd say we might not see him again before our bye

Sounds like they weren't in the mood to make an example of him. One week is certainly a better outcome than we hoped. I honesty can't remember the last Saints player to get off this light. Was it Plugger when he barrelled over that blond mullet for Carlton around 1992?

all right heres something people can mull over
A few have noticed that he gets pinged fairly often - for what could only be deemed as an over vigorous tackle
Have the umpires noticed that he might be a bit dirty off the ball?
It doesnt take long for a player to get a reputation and then umpired accordingly

Happy to be found wrong, but it looked like it was worth 2. Maybe there was no real impact, hard to tell on grainy video.

MRP wrote: Maverick Weller, St Kilda, has been charged with charged with striking Rohan Bewick, Brisbane Lions, during the fourth quarter of the round nine match between St Kilda and the Brisbane Lions, played at the Gabba on Sunday May 31, 2015.

In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Brisbane Lions Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as intentional conduct with low impact to the head. The offence was classified as a two-match sanction. The player has no applicable bad record. An early plea can reduce the penalty to a one-match sanction.

I reckon he's lucky.

The way our luck has been changing lately, a challenge may get him off scot-free. If Baker were to disguise himself as a QC, it'd definitely work.

@TheRunHome: Richardson says it is "pretty likely" they'll accept the one match ban for Mav Weller
