What a turn around, maybe I'll bag their starts out more often and then sit back and enjoy the comeback!!
Hopefully they can sustain it for the next two quarters.

Dunstan is going well and Longer seems to be winning the ruck.
Good to see as both have been a bit quite last few weeks

I think your memory is fading. Stats suggest Milne is in front.

As opposed to the lack of class of Milney.

I didn't think it was too good when a side who struggle to kick goals kick the first five goals in under ten minutes and finish with seven in a quarter. We got lucky when their best two small defenders got injured and had to go off, and to top it off they had Clay Beams off the ground for most of the second quarter as well.
But, to be fair, that sort of thing has happened to us all year so far as well, so I am glad we were able to take our chances in the second quarter. The third quarter will tell us a tale or two. I would like to be a fair way ahead at three quarter time if possible, because players can cramp up when it gets hot, which would possibly affect us more than them.
I wouldn't want to start off like we did today against Hawthorn next week though, because they will really go for the kill if we do.

Longer has had one handball. If I can come back in another life it would be as an AFL ruckman. They don't have to get possessions to be rated.

Lucky we have Schneider out there, because he has been one of our best. Regardless of what happens in this game from now AR and the coaching team must prepare the players better for first halves. If we dish up what we have been dishing up today next week we'll get anhialated.
Havent we won more first halves than second halves? And how do you know the preparation was woeful?
My point being that we wouldn't want to have a first quarter like this next week against Hawthorn or we could lose by a ridiculous margin. Brisbane had their two best small defenders have to go off, and they Beams off the ground for most of the second quarter as well. Granted, we have had these issues ourselves, so I am glad we have been able to take our chances. Love the fact we are back in front. Let's hope we have a great third quarter.

Is Schneiderman a better comparison for Lonie?plugger66 wrote:magnifisaint wrote:Maybe but everything Lonie does is class.plugger66 wrote:magnifisaint wrote:At the same stage of their careers Lonie is in front by the length of the Flemington straight.saint-stu wrote:Big call. Re: Match Thread: Saints vs Lions Gabba 2015
Milne came off the rookie list and turned himself into one of the greatest small forwards the game has ever produced. Don't sell him short. Lonie has played about 6 games. Hope you're right though.

He's much cleaner with the ball than Milne. Don't think Milne ever laid a tackle.plugger66 wrote:magnifisaint wrote:Maybe but everything Lonie does is class.plugger66 wrote:magnifisaint wrote:At the same stage of their careers Lonie is in front by the length of the Flemington straight.saint-stu wrote:Big call. Yep. Hickey, on the other hand, has been awesome around the ground. His handballs to players in best position have been telling.

Lonie looks great, but putting him above Milney is almost akin to saying Bruce will shade Plugger.saint-stu wrote:Milney more exciting, Lonie more reliable.plugger66 wrote:magnifisaint wrote:At the same stage of their careers Lonie is in front by the length of the Flemington straight.saint-stu wrote:Big call. I love Billy's combative attitude. Sets a great tone for us to be aggressive and hunters.

Really good signs - they are keeping up the pressure all over the field. Nto let us so far.

And I think he also gets bit of the ball. Tap outs are the most overated stat in the AFL. The start of this quarter Longer got a great tap out but it was down the throat of a lion. At least he has got a bit of ball this quarter.

Looks like skills are now creating turnovers for Brisbane to score from?
Why do we kick it out of bounds so much?

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
