I don't like the idea of bringing Goddard in yet. I don't get why Lee doesn't get in. Perfect time to try him. Will we rob Peter to pay Paul by sending Bruce back?
Just My Opinion

Clueless selections
Hey Einstein, whilst I am critical of the selections also, regardless of who we pick we are on a most likely hiding to nothing.
If we were tanking like you very foolishly and trollishly suggest, then why was Joey selected?
Maybe Joey was selected to play on Kennedy? Maybe Longer plays on Kennedy and Joey is tagging Nic Nat...remember Banger played on Jimmy Stynes once.
Who knows? Not you, that's for sure. Maybe Dempster plays on Kennedy and we have backed him for the coleman so the guys can hit Vegas with a big wad. He did well on Betts, that's for sure.
Whatever the rationale, just goes to show how dumb our match committee is.

So who should have played based on all those sandy games you have obviously seen?

Agree with this.
I am more than happy with the way the club is treating Paddy and Hugh. Hugh is still only 18. No rush there. Not many 18yos playing KP across the AFL these days (or any days).

I have seen every home sandy game this year. We should have selected one of Lee, Goddard or Simpkin. It's really not that hard. The full back is out and we are therefore undersized in the backiline - so, duh, select some size. We stuffed up last week by playing Dempster on Betts, this week we will play him on a guy too tall for him. He is a good third forward and a crap KPD. Just stupid.

Well Goddard would have been plain dumb. Simpkin is to small to play FB so that leaves Lee who others have said doesn't play on the monsters in the backline. And who should have played on Betts. At least this week it isn't hindsight. I didn't know Betts was a KPF. Walker must be a flanker.

Nobody said Betts was a KPF did they? I said Dempster is suited to the third forward, not the small forward. He's as slow as a wet rag and can't turn around so anyone who plays him these days on a small fwd is a fool.
With Delaney, our full back, out then logic would suggest we put a backman in. We have 3 in the seconds so choose one. Fisher goes to Kennedy and whoever comes in plays second tall with Dempster 3rd tall. Not so hard really. Dunno what point you are making re walker.
I think the game plan is to not let the ball get into our back line and just keep it in the forward line. If it does go over the press then fast players are needed to get back and not slower ones. That is the way Adelaide seemed to cut us up last week.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

It's been a big deal in the media that Betts is being played as a mini FF with Walker setting up more as a CHF. They were saying how stupid it was last friday...it's a shame Adelaide didn't listen to the experts and drop him.

Maybe this is like how the Dogs decided they couldn't win the ruck duel so didn't play a ruck man. We can't win the FB battle so just let Kennedy run free and hope he does an ankle doing his Fred Flintstone bowling run up.
Two weeks in a row, teams with bigger bodies. I don't want to see our young players brought in to be belted about so early in their playing careers, what is to be gained? We have a month after this match before Essendon and another good break before Geelong to allow our younger, lightly framed players gain some match experience against talented footballers. What Lonie has been exposed to during games has been digraceful on several fronts.
Another good game from Farren this week and he will be knocking on the door as well.
Competition for spots is getting more intense which is a good sign.
