From another thread:St Loxton wrote:Strange. Neither are named emergencies for the senior side.
Injured?tony74 wrote:tony74 wrote:For as long as I can remember EVERY player on the list participated in training this morning. Obviously a couple were not involved in full contact but I honestly can't remember the last time the entire squad was as one.
Couple left the track early and there's one with a niggling injury but it was great to see.
Amazing what a win does!
Well there you go, just been informed Paddy and Hugh weren't there. Maybe next week will be a first!
Sore?
Rested?

Way to leave us hanging with McCartin and Goddard! Is it disciplinary or are they being rested?! I don't understand why they both wouldn't train. Panic station, party of one right here.

I really hope white can have a good game , with a good performance he could find himself taking Roos spot. Great to hear Ross is back. I thought this year would really be a break out one for him. Still hoping it will be

Big chance for Spencer to get into the senior side. If he has a big one and Membrey is quiet, he might just sneak in.

Has anyone told the people who do our website that Paddy and Hugh are not playing?
According to the Facebook page "15 saints listed players including McCartin, Goddard and Curren"St Kilda players in the squad:
Acres, Curren, Gilbert, Goddard, Holmes, Lee McCartin, Membrey, Minchington, Murdoch, Payne, Pierce, Ray, Saunders, Saad, Shenton, Simpkin, Templeton, White, Wright

Yesterday (and even earlier this morning), Goddard and McCartin weren't listed on the site- they added their names to the list at about 10am today.
I'm not sure what's happening but that list was only very recently updated.
Also Saunders is listed among the best at QTR time in the Development League.

Does anyone know what Saunders is doing in the Dev League? Pierce was named in it as well, but both (as well as Kenny Ong) were listed in both the VFL and Dev League teams during the week.

Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - casey radio 97.7
My guess would be that, because we have so many players available, we are simply unable to play them all in the seniors (there has to be a certain number of Sandringham-listed players in the team as well).thequarry wrote:Does anyone know what Saunders is doing in the Dev League? Paul Hudson on Casey Radio stating Gilbert pulled up sore from last week so rested this week, Paddy, Hugh and Payney all rested this week(due to workload of 1st year player). Will continue to play Lee down back, and says is relishing new role.

I take it that rule will not apply when we have our own standalone reserves team? They will all be saints players unless we don't have enough and then, and only then, will use top ups?4ever_saint wrote:My guess would be that, because we have so many players available, we are simply unable to play them all in the seniors (there has to be a certain number of Sandringham-listed players in the team as well).thequarry wrote:Does anyone know what Saunders is doing in the Dev League? LOL, poor Paddy, has a chance to impress if Rooey doesn't come up and he is rested, FFS!Die Hard 7 wrote:Paul Hudson on Casey Radio stating Gilbert pulled up sore from last week so rested this week, Paddy, Hugh and Payney all rested this week(due to workload of 1st year player). Re: VFL Rd 5 Sandringham Vs Frankston - casey radio 97.7
There will be Saints VFL players and Saints listed players and we'll have full control of how we use them. I'm guessing we might be able to poach some of the Sandy players who are affiliated with us as our VFL players (eg. CJ, TDL). I'm sure those guys would prefer to be training and working within an AFL framework.Jacks Back wrote:I take it that rule will not apply when we have our own standalone reserves team?
