Booing a life member of the club seems a bit strange to me but people pay their hard earned to go the footy... they can do that if they want I suppose.

Not particularly my thing but it's part of the game and it probably helps fire these guys up more than anything.

Plugger did the same thing in that game against the Swans when we came from 47 points down. I was only sorry he missed. All that white hair to aim at too.

It's an interesting point that some folk have made about booing Goddard, and equating such behavior with "showing emotion, and making some noise in unison, to show harmony among us" Well call me an old fuddy duddy, but I don't agree. "Passion" should be directed at getting behind OUR side. Where I sit on level one aisle 18-19, I often get folk coming up to me saying "come on Joggster, rev 'em up"!! Quite often (with a few honourable exceptions) you can hear a pin drop after an onfield setback, as people sit in silence (or in whinge mode) IF you want to be a barracker for this club, then you should need NO ONE to rev you up! and my point is made because it sickens me to the stomach to witness a guy like I did at the game last sunday, who booed with fanatical zeal every time Goddard went near the ball, but who sat in stony silence when OUR KIDS NEEDED ENCOURAGEMENT!

The booing of Goddard is a bit like Everton fans booing Wayne Rooney after he went to Man U, Jiggster.

Someone made an interesting comment saying it almost shows a lack of respect if you don't boo. But on the other side of the coin, I respect and can totally see the point of those who see it as being negative or showing a lack of class. Those who do it and don't cheer on our boys as well are merely hecklers. I guess they're not really barrackers/suppporters at all. That sounds like a miserable way to spend the day at the footy to me.

It really doesn't matter how many comparisons one can make Sainternist. (and for your information, I NEVER booed an ex Everton player when they returned to Goodison)
