Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
Schneider has been a good player for us,but at the end of the day walked the fine line of being a premiership hero and club legend,to costing us a premiership almost single handedly. Today brought back those horror memories for the supporters,it's not easy dealing with a lost premiership that lots of us have never seen,it's ok for him....
Also cost us upwards of 300 free kicks and possibly 40 or more premiership points since he clapped in the umpires face 6 years ago.
There are some scars there

He is not part of our future and I doubt he'll play many more games this year!

Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
u could see it all , written across his face after the final siren .
... he knew he'd muffled it.
i felt empathy for the bloke.
poor bugger ... but that's Sport
... managed to snatched defeat from the jaws of victory myself a couple of times.
drains ya 'n pains ya.
... the dreaded ol 'what if' , 'wtf' 'n 'what nows'.
How do u reckon he's feeling tonight.

Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
For the majority of St Kilda supporters Schneider will be forever be remembered as a very good player who regardless couldn't get the job done (choked) in clutch situations and had dodgy hammies
No matter how much a few might disagree that is unfortunately how it will pan out over the years after he retires
I have never minded Schneider thought when he was fit he was always very serviceable but I hope as we get into the 2nd half of the season he will be playing with Sandy due to some young kids putting their hands up and demanding his spot

Re: A little perspective about Adam Schneider
That hurt today, in front all day just like the 09 GF, Schneider cover yourself in glory and kick a crucial goal. Donuts! The umps still hate us too...
Are we waiting for a saviour?
I'm so sick of waiting!
I've been waiting my whole life!
This is a new day!

Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
The great thing about this team and this coach is during any review of a game every minute is scrutinised. So a mistake or a pressure act whether it be in the first minute or last minute is discussed. Accolades and grievances abound as they should, so no one is spared. They all take it on the chin, and move on.
But the main message was that we played to win, we took the game on, and took risks to the very end. Futures good.

Thanks Tony. Backs up the theory that if it's possible to have a good loss, or an acceptable one, when the dust has settled, then just maybe this fits into that category.tony74 wrote:The great thing about this team and this coach is during any review of a game every minute is scrutinised. Or we could listen to one of our players who said its the flattest he has ever been after a game. Hopefully the players don't think its a good loss.saintspremiers wrote:Thanks Tony. That was straight after the match. Different scenario the next day. As I said - after the dust had settled.plugger66 wrote:Or we could listen to one of our players who said its the flattest he has ever been after a game. Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
If he had kicked a goal, it would have gone back to the centre and Essendon may have well cleared and goaled with the ease they were running the ball up the ground in the last 5 mins of the game- does anyone have a crystal ball..who would be to blame then?

Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
The irony is at training on Thursday Adam and Tim would have had 20 set shots each fro about 35 metres out. They both went through their set routines. I reckon Tim missed about 4. Adam not one. Each one of Schneiders with the walk up and then the slow jog and the kick. Not one did he miss. Drives ya nuts.

Regardless of rubbish posted here, there is no such thing as a good loss. Not after the effort put in all day.maverick wrote:Good to hear.plugger66 wrote:Or we could listen to one of our players who said its the flattest he has ever been after a game. TYhey will learn from the loss but to say it is acceptable is just loser talk and accepting anything less than a win in those circumstances is - and I will say it - embracing mediocrity.
You do not accept losses, you look at it and learn from it, but never ever accept it.
You are garbage - Enough said

not that i wanna argue the point coz i get where u are coming from,
and agree with the mindset ... but .. the reality is, we lost ... it is What Is and we HAVE to accept it.
'n may as well 'look for the positives' from said loss don't we.

Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
I'm still not sure how missed that shot running into an open goal in the last minute or so. Missing that set shot was signs of a tired player.
He'll be wearing goat horns all week. If one of those two shots were straight, he'd instead be a hero. What a fine line it is.

Re: A little perspective about Adam Schenider
There are certainly no good losses, but I walked out of Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening feeling better about the saints future than what I did before I walked in.
The players hurt because they believe they can win.
The supporters are encouraged because we saw that the players have what it takes to do what they believe they can.
