Positives : against the cheats.

Re: Positives : against the cheats.
1. We played better than Essendon and should of won.
2. Having lost, but acknowledging point 1, I feel its better as we need more high draft picks, future looks good if we play like we did each week.

Re: Positives : against the cheats.
Much as I hate losing to East Germany...
LOTs of positives, kids who can actually kick, Josh Bruce - saw a couple of bombers spill marks as they ducked their heads when they heard him coming, good ball movement, Jack Billings - best game for the club
I've seen the future and I like it

Play exciting, competitive footy and people will actually pay to come and watch.

Lonie. DMac, Sinclair, Membrey and Acres all look really, really promising
Webster- I loved his use of the ball, but needs to get more of it.
Armo, Steven, Billings and Bruce were outstanding

McKenzie, Lonie, Acres, Membery, Sinclair.
Five players who'd played no more than 5 games prior to today.
Throw in Bruce, Longer, Hickey, Dunstan, Webster and Billings who've all played less than 30 games, and you'd have to be happy with the performance
Now, if Templeton and a couple of others can find some real form in the VFL, there'll be further reasons for optimism

Lots more run out of defence up the wing today, Webster made a big difference.
Lonie, Sinclair, Billings, Dunstan all good smart footballers….
Lots of speed as well….
Bruce is very good….
Membrey coming on, remember has played less than 10 games…..

I was underwhelmed by Webster, he looked rusty still. I thought Dempster and Fisher with Mc Kenzie, Roberton and then every other player on the ground doubling back to shut down space was the difference. I thought it was great seeing Weller play a less stuck on role today too. He actually won a lot of contested ball.

The biggest positive was we took the game on. We weren't afraid to take risks. When the game was in the balance we dared to win.

Re: Positives : against the cheats.
Lots to be happy with.
Lonie. Have a feeling this guy is gonna be a highlight reel. That raking left on the turn in the first quarter...unreal.
Hickey. He was good. 12 contested possies. Very good when it hits the deck for such a big bloke. Has a real crack.
Weller.
Dempster. Best game in some time.
Armo, Steven, Dunstan, Gears... Solid 4 quarters.
The effort and attitude is there.

Look Webster was rusty, but his run and long kicking have been missing, the kick to Dunstan for the goal was brilliant.gringo wrote:maverick wrote:Lots more run out of defence up the wing today, Webster made a big difference.

We need mobile mediums like Webster to come on.

Completely agree - not everyone can be a champion, but I can see Webster becoming for us, what Toovey does for Collingwood.maverick wrote:Look Webster was rusty, but his run and long kicking have been missing, the kick to Dunstan for the goal was brilliant.gringo wrote:maverick wrote:Lots more run out of defence up the wing today, Webster made a big difference.

Not a star but a valuable contributor week in week out.
Lonie - what a find this guy is - a ready-made Milney replacement...if that's at all possible.
Dempster had a corker of a game - reliable as clockwork.
Hickey was very good after halftime - seems to be giving us a target down the lines in the way that McEvoy used to. Good below his knees for a big unit too.
Armo and Jack Steven...how the hell could anyone think they were trade bait? They were awesome today.
Josh Bruce - how good is this guy now? Imagine what he's going to be in another year or so? Gotta be excited about that!
Dunstan, Billings, improving each week at an incredible rate...so happy to see these guys starting to hit their straps.
Roberton - has really took it upon himself to go to the next level this year - his reading of the play and footy smarts remind me a lot of Matthew Young.
Was very happy with our workrate today - will be hard to keep that up every week but Jeez...we are a LONG way ahead of where I thought we'd be at this stage.
I think this is the happiest I've ever felt after a loss! Weird eh?

Lonie is a real find, as is Sinclair
Roberton looks injury free again.
A good sign at the end of that game all players were on the ground absolutely stuffed having given everything.
They had a massive crack today.
Re: Positives : against the cheats.
I missed the game, will chase up a replay.
But the main positive for me after five rounds is that we're giving it a red hot crack every week. It doesn't always come off for us but the attitude is unquestionable for at least portions of games. That suggests that the players are listening to Richo and playing for each other - both very very good signs.

Jack Billings - great game. So damaging. Game No 20
The Bruuce has arrived. His first few games were no fluke. Hes the real deal. Game no 29
Newnes - much improved. Back to what we know he can do. Game no 51
Armo - Warrior. Game no 112
Webster - didnt do enough but good first hit out. Quite a long way ahead of Wright (kicking). Game no 23 but first back after 6 weeks
Membrey - Love his effort Game No 6
Lonie- Absolute live wire. 4th 5th efforts. Game no 5
Geary - Much improved disposal. Good game. Game no 105
DMac and Acres - Ok a few mistakes - but both did enough for me to be happy. Id rather see kids out there making errors but looking likely. Real promise. game No 1 and no 4
Hickey really needed to take that grab 20m straight in front in the 3rd (?). That probably wins us that game. game no 31

Re: Positives : against the cheats.
What the hell is up with Josh Bruce, I swear he has never looked like a forward's a$$^&6 prior to this season and I thought many on here were delusional to keep talking him up
Then it's like add water = instant better version on Hamil.
Find of the season for sure. Will be very good to see what he's like when Roo comes back
