Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
Schneider is a joke at this point in time.
He's pissed off the umps to the extent that he can't win a free kick even if he's been decapitated.
As a SENIOR PLAYER, he is supposed to be someone we can count on under pressure. Instead, we get lazy kick-outs from full-back to players under pressure from 2 opponents and fire-trucking awful goal-kicking when the game is there to win.

Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons; for you are a quick and tasty morsel.

Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
Still in disbelief. Everyone around us talking about Schneider. He has been poor with set shots for a while but that last one really?? He is experienced and not as if he had the pressure of a final which he knows well. Would have been so confidence building for the younger guys. If he can't kick those anymore he should be playing at Sandy. Worst way to lose and another flat trip back home.

Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
Im calming down
In the end what hurts most is that guys showed exactly the kind of effort required
and for that Im well pleased
the worry is that you have a bunch of kids sitting in the change room thinking we threw everything at them and still lost
and I love the fact they are not one person focused (Roo) it makes the team much more dangerous

Minch or Eli eventually. But better option would be straight swap with Joey.HitTheBoundary wrote:lol.SaintPav wrote:Saad.Grimfang wrote:Have we got anyone to bring in in place of Schneider? He's a liability.

I too was disappointed when Membrey passed it off. I said to the person sitting next to me that Schneider would miss. He could have won the game for us, twice. Instead people will be calling for his head. Sad end to a brilliant effort from the whole team.
Schneider would be feeling worse than all of us though.

Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
you peanuts need to get of Schneiders back, he will retire soon anyway but I would rather have in the side than not.
Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
Not Schneiders fault, there were heaps of misses, Lonie needed to steady a lot of the time.
Bruce out on the full.
What was the first quarter score, 2 goals, 6 behinds... that cost us the game.
Team stays the same next week, balance was good, Roberton to be the sub, Acres to start.

Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
Get rid of the centre bounce. It's bloody ridiculous how many times the umpire called it back and how much time it takes off the clock.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
I think there's a problem with the center, after a while the umps were bouncing it to the side, not dead center in the middle. More Etihad problem than "the bounce"magnifisaint wrote:Get rid of the centre bounce. It's bloody ridiculous how many times the umpire called it back and how much time it takes off the clock.

Doesn't matter. Doesn't take much skill to throw it up straight up in the air.lefty wrote:I think there's a problem with the center, after a while the umps were bouncing it to the side, not dead center in the middle. Can't just change the rules on match day. Its iconic, it won't change. Frustrating, sure, whilst winning today would of been good, we also must look at the bigger picture, I'd rather get picks, than sit in the middle of the ladder.magnifisaint wrote:Doesn't matter. Re: Match day thread. Saints v Bombers
What cost us the game was Savage doing his hamstring in the end, I'm pretty sure Longer or Hickey would've been subbed if it weren't for that which would've given us more run.
A lot of our blokes were out on there feet.

The clock should be reset like they do in other sports - its a false start caused by the umpires - its not rocket sciencemagnifisaint wrote:Get rid of the centre bounce. It's bloody ridiculous how many times the umpire called it back and how much time it takes off the clock.
Or yes throw it up!!
AFL should sort it but probably wont

Definitely Schneider cost us the game, set shot miss resulted in a goal at the other end as well as the end.lefty wrote:Not Schneiders fault, there were heaps of misses, Lonie needed to steady a lot of the time.

No need to get any more personal, but facts are facts, he had the chance at the end and fluffed it.

Yeah I know he was fantastic, but I still think one of either Longer or Hickey would've been the planned sub.saintsRrising wrote:Hickey had a very good last quarter.saintbob wrote:What cost us the game was Savage doing his hamstring in the end, I'm pretty sure Longer or Hickey would've been subbed if it weren't for that which would've given us more run.

I actually questioned Hickey's selection earlier in this thread, but I'm sure glad he proved me wrong.
