Who is Big Titsy?
Mayor at the time. As someone else pointed out though the real problem was Alabaster not Topsy.
So what was Alabaster's problem?
He wanted to plant trees in the car park. he was a fool and cost us plenty.
An added bit of useless trivia around this; Sean Roach (son of Steve who played 1 game for us) was employed by Kingston Council and his job every Monday was remove all the trees/plants that were planted in the carpark over the previous week. This went on for ages !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Jesus Christ, just pick somewhere and stick to it....
For a club that is hanging on by a thread financially, we have more important fish to fry than moving....again.
Our club should be have more of an identity than the grass we run laps on in pre-season. Where our administration and gym is located should mean 2/5ths of stuff all.
I pay my taxes, and my club membership, and I want them to be better spent.

I think we can safely put that to bed. I think Moorabbin is the best option. Most of our supporters live in that area and the seconds were playing there anyway. And more importantly we will be the boss.

You could blame him - clearly mentally challenged - but I blame that idiot Scottsman Archie who was incapable of getting his/our way with the council.
Sure, it may be a difficult process, in which case you get the AFL and state govt to convince the fool to let the Saints develop Moorabbin. There are ways and means of legally getting your way in the world if you use the right tools, especially if you know the other person's argument is a crock of shyte.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Yep, You hire Mick Gatto to negotiate on your behalf. Simple really.
We need a "real home" and it looks like we are getting it - but maybe not !
In reading the Kingston Council presser, I did not see any mention of Member/Club facilities being built - only Training & Admin facilities, plus a Community Sports area & parkland. That's great for the Players & Admin, plus those who want to attend Training.
What's in it for the Members from a socialising perspective - no Bar, Social area, Dining area etc. Members pay their money too, but what do they get in return - not much.
Junction Oval was the optimal move, but now not possible, so we move on.

The problem with all that is it wouldn't get enough use for the huge cost. They have to have pokies so hopefully there is place to have a drink. Doubt they would have proper meals though. Don't think we have any of that lined up at the JO either. Do many if any clubs have that stuff?

You may be right Plugger. Geelong has built these facilities into their new stadium, but had $millions to do so. It seems that Clubs are offering facilities at Etihad and the MCG for game days, but not at their home premises. Port Adelaide has a Bistro and a Social Room, West Coast the same (I think).
Would be great if it came off. Could that be the reason that there were no plans submitted by the Club, for "Members amenity" areas at Moorabbin We will watch with interest

A stepping stone. One step at a time.
I really hope the club continues align itself to st Kilda with its marketing and promotion - I would think some kind of merchandise office/ museum ?? Retail space or even a social club in st killda would be great to give us a presence while we train at moorabbin before returning to st Kilda in the future
The Saints’ plan calls for the removal of the G.G Huggins stand at the rundown but much-loved facility to make way for state-of-the-art training and administration buildings and an indoor sports court.
The council money comes on top of funding of about $11m for an existing project - $8m of which had been committed by the state.
Noted on one news report tonight that Frankston council would not be putting up any roadblocks on the saints leaving as they have gained a $12mill facility.

Still borderline stupid that we are moving again.
This is no way to develop a brand, culture, image et al.
I hate getting to Moorabbin, its a royal PITA along with Warrigal Road. I'd much much rather go to Seaford.
I highly doubt the majority of members live in that area. Unless someone has actual facts/info on our supporter base, then its all he/me/I say. Maybe this was valid back in the day, when people who lived in Carlton went for Carlton, and those in Essendon, went for Essendon, but these days, its not about barracking for the side because you live in/next to the same suburb.
Moorabbin to me, is overdue to be knocked down. That grand stand might have history, but its well past its time.
I also find is amusing the same council that kicked us out, now wants us back, its just stupid.

Fear Not; I think you will find that "The St Kilda Foundation" have that side of things covered !!

There was a survey recently and the majority of people who follow the saints live close to Moorabbin. It makes complete sense too. And the grandstand is going so that isn't an issue.

Considering everyone knew we were going to move to Seaford well in advance, how come folks only expressed concern once we were there?
If the place isn't too flash, it surely does not take us building a major complex for us to realise this?
Poor all-around.
Unfortunately some people did rail against the proposal to set up base at Seaford. After the Frankston Oval proposal fell over I, and a small number of others, argued strongly against it. We were abused on this forum by the disciples of the club who blindly supported any club decision.
Blind Freddy could see Seaford would be a disaster. I'm sure all the posts would still be there for all to see.

Didn't you want us to go to Casey? That would have been as equal of a disaster though.

...
Does this mean we will have no stand? I was really hoping we would have a decent stand to watch VFL games and training.
