Re: Changes
Im Guessing Roo and Monty not fit . Need a balance as we have seen how going too young can smash kids development ( ala Melbourne).
I would think perhaps
Out: Saad, McCartin, Curren
In: Weller , Hickey, Acres
Goddard could possibly come in also and dempster moves to that smaller back role as opposed to 3rd tall if Roberton doesn't come up.
Lots wanting Membery out, but he is our work horse across half forward , hard lead ups and back and up again. Allows Bruce and Patty ( this week) to stay closer to goal. I like his work rate and link play He is young ( for a big) and has a work rate so must be persisted with.
Cant just give games to players because of their birth certificates.

Webster simply has to come in and Webster isnt even that young.older saint wrote:Im Guessing Roo and Monty not fit . Need a balance as we have seen how going too young can smash kids development ( ala Melbourne).

Dempster cant play on smalls or talls - only mediums.
IN: Webster, Acres, Hickey, Weller
OUT: Saad, Paddy, Curren, (one of Shenton, Dempster, Wright)
Also think McKenzie is very very close so Newnes and Geary are on notice.

Re: Changes
From what I saw at Willy today I would give Acres his chance. Webster for sure. No one else really knocked the door down. Maybe Eli for Saad. Minch didn't play so not sure what the go is there.
D Mac maybe a Smokie.

Fyi david armitage is 4th in disposals in the competetion
J steven is 38th then daylight till shane savage in the 70's
actually believe they are having a good season it is clearly the rest of the team that needs to lift

Re: Changes
Four games in and a couple of bigger losses it's time to shift out a couple. Saad needs to play for Sandy with his equivalent TDL. Just not enough goals, possessions or pressure.
One of Membrey or McCartin could make way.
I think it's time for Hickey and Longer to play together even though from reports Hickey struggled today in tough conditions
Any of Minch, Eli or Acres would make me happy as ins too

Re: Changes
After watching today's sandy game I would make the following changes
Out Saad, curran, Shenton, wright
In Weller, acres, Webster, Saunders
Paddy and membrey has to play until roo is back as we have no viable options at sandy.
Goddard and Dmac will be in the seniors before too long

Re: Changes
I thought Dan McKenzie was one of the best for Sandy! And did'nt Goddard also play well?
Why no support for these two? McKenzie sounds lile he is in front of Acres at this point.

Re: Changes
I don't know who should come in but I want 3 maybe 4 changes. We need some rotation into the side. AR is ultra conservative re changes unlike most coaches.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Re: Changes
AR should be rotating young players through the team at every opportunity this season to see how they fit into the structure and how they cope at this level, and as a coach should be experimenting as much as possible.. though I wouldn't hold my breath.saintspremiers wrote:I don't know who should come in but I want 3 maybe 4 changes. Re: Changes
Agreed AR's selection history this year is minimal changes...think he needs to start phasing out some of the senior players but he simply doesnt have the cattle. How players like Simpkin, Saad, Sipposs, Markworth etc remain on our list when they cant even dominate VFL or stay on the park is beyond comprehension!spert wrote:AR should be rotating young players through the team at every opportunity this season to see how they fit into the structure and how they cope at this level, and as a coach should be experimenting as much as possible.. though I wouldn't hold my breath.saintspremiers wrote:I don't know who should come in but I want 3 maybe 4 changes. Saints did the right thing in moving on Pelchen as although he did some good things (long term plan) he also stuffed a number of recruiting list management decisions IMO !
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

I'm sure Richo would be keeping a watchful eye on both McKenzie and Goddard.borderbarry wrote:I thought Dan McKenzie was one of the best for Sandy! And did'nt Goddard also play well?

It won't be long before both of them make their debuts in my opinion.

Re: Changes
It does sound like Roo and Joey won't get up for this week. I'd really like to see Minchington in but no mention of him from the Sandy game suggests he won't get his chance this week. I'd hope for something like this
Out: McCartin, Curren, Saad, Shenton, Schneider, Geary
In: Hickey, Weller, Acres, Webster, Minchington, McKenzie
I'm braced for something like this
Out: Curren
In: Weller

Re: Changes
In: Goddard, McKenzie, Webster, Acres, Lee, Hickey, Minchington (Weller, Roo and Joey instead of Lee Hickey and Minch if fit)
Out: Wright, Shenton, Curren, Saad, Paddy, Roberton, Sinclair
Would look better if this happend.

Re: Changes
Not sure why Sinclair would go ,I know he had a quiet game but a couple of goals from a first year player is gold....
Has hit the scoreboard in each game played.

I agree but someone needs to go to put those guys in, and unfortuanenty he's the next cab off the rank.
Re: Changes
All these changes for guys who just played in the VFL and got smashed. Maybe we nearly had our best side out there on Saturday and we aren't good enough yet.

I don't rate him either. The feel-good story of his return has come to its conclusion. He has to shape up or ship out.magnifisaint wrote:I reckon Saady has a better chance if he goes on Masterchef.

So you ignore the Collingwood game and the VFL performance against the Bombers then? You cant have it both ways.plugger66 wrote:All these changes for guys who just played in the VFL and got smashed. Maybe we nearly had our best side out there on Saturday and we aren't good enough yet.

Talk about bad luck.ShanghaiSaint wrote:word over at BF is Minch hurt himself training, if he's ok i would like to see him in for Saad. otherwise Eli for Saad
It seems Saad is the luckiest bloke of all time and the Minch cant take a trick.
Lets hope that changes.
Re: Changes
Saad does not need to be swapped for another small forward. It's not like we don't have enough already in the team with Lonie, Schneider and Sinclair.Con Gorozidis wrote:Talk about bad luck.ShanghaiSaint wrote:word over at BF is Minch hurt himself training, if he's ok i would like to see him in for Saad. otherwise Eli for Saad

All of the above offer more.
