Re: We will beat Carlton next week
74 points IS a big turn around BUT we did it last year. Round 4 we were beaten by Adelaide by 86 points (who didn't make finals in '14) and followed it up in Round 5 with a win against Essendon (who did make finals in '14) by 16 points.
We just need to rest up and prepare well. We looked buggered last night from the half-way point of the 1st quarter- (hopefully) the result of young legs, two consecutive 6 day breaks and an interstate flight.
From Richo's presser last night, I'd say Rooey is less than 50/50 for next week. He basically said that Rooey would have to be flying on the track early in the week for them to even consider sending him to NZ (in order to avoid a repeat of the last minute Paddy McCartin debut debacle they had last night). He's having scans today.

We also had a 113 point turn around after the Hawthorn game last year.

Re: We will beat Carlton next week
Well said, went to every game in the late seventies early eighties and can't ever recalling thinking about losing. Regardless of how good the opposition was and how poor we were in the back of your mind a win was all you thought about. Even now i never get carried away but deep down always think we're a chance. Thats why we love our club!Bunk_Moreland wrote:Nice support there. One Eyed Saint wrote:There is no chance in hell we will beat Carlton next week.
We will not win another game for the year
You sound like David King
Really supporters like you should not support the Saints anymore.
You are not a real supporter. Fair weather who hasn't any courage.
Dont let the door hit you on the arse on the way back.
And dont come back when we are a winning team again
What a chump

Re: We will beat Carlton next week
Believed at the beginning of the year we'll win 2 games this season. Not out of pessimism, just because of injuries, retirements at the end of last year, and the improvement of sides above us. Still think that, but I thought we were a sneaky chance against a wobbly Magpies unit.
We are definitely a sneaky chance against Carlton. They haven't played in Wellington - we have and that must count for something.

TuneIn is great but you can't listen to AFL on it. Radio stations don't have the rights to broadcast games on the internet. So you need the AFL app.stevie wrote:No I meant will try and get radio coverage TuneIn is greatkosifantutti wrote:You need the AFL app unless things have changed.stevie wrote:Will b thinking of the boys it will b roughly 4 am at Gallipoli when game kicks off will try and get broadcast on TuneIn app on iphone

Or just listen to the radio via the AFL website.kosifantutti wrote:TuneIn is great but you can't listen to AFL on it. Radio stations don't have the rights to broadcast games on the internet. That's what I thought too. But the AFL app is free if you just want to listen to radio so it's worth just getting it.kosifantutti wrote:TuneIn is great but you can't listen to AFL on it. You could always jump up and down and stamp your feet or post on here about how unfair it all is. Only problem is that doing so won't change anything.SaintPav wrote:And we have a choice?!dragit wrote:I think we'll start under-dogs next week, but agree with this sentiment, we need to stay patient...Bunk_Moreland wrote:Just hang in there Saints fans.

No Yarran is a bonus
We can definitely beat the Blues next week. Oneat thing about young teams are they can be exciting as fu...k or completely rubbish. I was pleased with our young guys again against the pies....love Sinclair what a bonus pick.
Replace Shenton and Paddy with two better players.........Webster,Gilbert, Montagna, Rooey etc we will be better. (Paddy will be an awesome player just needs more time)
Only teams we will go close against are the younger ones....gws, GC, melbourne, dogs, blues and of course the dockers.

Gibbs will be fine. At worst a reprimand. IMOGriggsy wrote:yarran def out. Gibbs is a chance for suspension too, missed the Gibbs footage though, what do people think?

Judd had a question mark over his fitness going into today's match- did he play alright?
Without Yarran and Judd, I'd fancy us. It's just hard to see how we can win without Riewoldt.

Re: We will beat Carlton next week
Yarren gone - he wont be playing against us - he drew blood and knocked Chappy of his feet with left hand roundhouse to the gob
Gibbs - high contact, low to medium impact - he bumped Goddard in the head - Goddard went down and held his head but got back up and remonstrated with Gibbs while letting the umpire know that Gibbs hit him in the head - if Goddard stayed down it could have been a couple of weeks but he will probably get off because we are St Kilda - if Gibbs was a Saints player he would get 4 weeks
Judd played fine

Re: We will beat Carlton next week
We must play a part in the implosion of Carlton.
It is quite simply our duty.
