There's no movement from the Saints.
Elliott marks again. 4th goal coming up.

I'm listening to this on radio. Adam White reckons "He was fist pumping as soon as he made contact" I'm glad I can't see that.
Cloke marks again. Broomhead and Oxley giving silver service, who is on them.

Jack Steven held and slung without the ball in the centre square. They'very paid that twice to the pies, but f... me they miss it.

Re: Saints v Pies Match Thread
I think the plan moving forward is simple
We have an underdeveloped midfield that can easily outmuscled, and will fade
We need to pump as many games as we can into our young midfielders and develop them... Trade for a ready made mid or 2 at seasons end and pick up another quality mid in next seasons draft

I think the defence has done ok given the supply and the forwards you cant judge due to lack of opportunity

Newnes kicks to man on mark kicking for goal. Nerves, intit? Has Billings been any good? I've not heard his name since the first Quarter.

Dunstan seems like he's not having a great game, despite being involved in the action. is that right?

Well this is disappointing, but I won't be discouraged. We're seeing how our young players deal in critical situations, and they will learn from this.
We're seeing which players will have what it takes.

Gilbee says:
turnovers in middle, hard to defend, need to tidy that up, Wright due to enter the field, morale is ok, can be better, guys tend to go into their shell, normal for a young side.

Re: Saints v Pies Match Thread
Pies killed us through the middle in that 1/4, our run and belief is very fragile and we started panicking with the ball because the run stopped! Poor old Paddy has made some good leads but they womt kick to him.
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

Billings and Dunstan not doing too much at all. They look slow.
Maybe put Paddy in the ruck for 5 minutes to give him a look at that oval thing.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

reality check.
The consistency will take time. We all know it.
I dont think playing Mccartin was a very good idea.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
