Question about Tim Membrey

Hi Saintsationalists,
just a quick question to those on here who have seen either our NAB or rd 1 match live at the ground...how mobile/agile is Membrey at ground level? after just watching glimpses of NAB on the tele and rd 1 on the tele as well, i found it hard to get a read on just how agile he is and how he looks live. Size wise, there's a bit of Ryan O'Keefe about him, even a bit of Luke Parker, but does he cover the ground well and could he potentially spend time in the middle?? Cheers in advance

Swans were trying to get him onto the midfield but then he went back to being a forward. I don't think he would get enough ball as a mid. He just needs to keep working hard as lead up forward.

Too hard to call at this point. It would be great if he could become like Aaron Hamill, but I don't see that level of agility in him at this stage. Unless he spends a bit go time up the ground we won't know

I think those tatts weigh his arms down. Have a look at the low centre of gravity that Swann has.

Plays taller than he is. He's a strong kid just wait until his body fully develops

He was quicker than I thought he'd be. Not really sure what to make of him at this point.

That first mark (and goal) was terrifically strong.

Given it seems that Spencer-White doesn't seem to have the hunger to get his fitness up it looks like Tim is in the box seat as Nick's right hand man up forward.

Watched him in U18's and was a standout player, thought he moved pretty smartly in the Morwell game. Pinned him as a senior player that day.

Really need him to develop as a forward, though, at this stage of his career. He's only 20 and could make a midfielder in a couple of years but I'd prefer to see him cement his spot in the forward line first.

He has already shown me more than the previous #28 did in 52 of his 53 senior games. Lots of upsides to Tim Membrey.

I thought he looked terric against GWS -- except that he spilled three absolutely simple, crucial marks. His first mark and goal showed that he could do it -- must have been nerves after that.
He looks strong, tough and fast. And deadly accurate.
If he'd held those marks he'd have kicked two or three goals from them -- we would have won the game, and he would have been the star.

He had a very good debut with us against GWS. The only thing that let him down was dropping a chest mark in front of goal during the last quarter.

The best part about the missed marks was he was in the right place. You can't teach that, but the coaches can work on his concentration and focus in circumstances like that.

And the goal in the last quarter he was in the right place at the right time and hit the ball with real speed. He made a good first impression on me.
