Glass half full here. We scored more and they belted us by less than last time!SaintPav wrote:Could?sunsaint wrote:3rd 130 vs 31

Having stood in the rain that day, this was better...

Re: Saints v Hawthorn
Arces is so slow.
Really nothing to say about tonight except our disposal even when not under pressure was appalling.
We HAVE to control what we can control. Couldn't control the Hawks when they had it, but we just have to do the basics when we have the ball and hit friggin targets.
Steven will get bagged but at leasthe tried to beat his man a few times. Still his disposalwas piss poor

Re: Saints v Hawthorn
A few positives.
Sinclair was better than I expected.
Acres playing more like he belongs.
Lonie is a natural.
Pierce took a grab that Longer could only dream of holding onto.
Saad might have improved marginally.
Dunstan picked up where he left off.
The major difference between the sides which would account for 90% of the margin was disposal efficiency. It is also the one thing that might be hardest to fix. We were also slower but Hawthorn have a few elite speedsters which would show up any side.
Other than that, no surprises and we will be happy to get Roo and Armo back who I expect will lift the output of all the other forwards/mids respectively. To a lesser extent Geary, Billings, Ross and Ray.

Team rules Con I am really having doubts re our coaching/development staff. The players confidence is paper thin no resistence, no smart effort and playing dumb football. The worst Saints side I have seen since the 80's.Con Gorozidis wrote:Why do we always get clear and then stop and handball backwards to someone in a worse position.

Everyone needs to just take a chill pill. As supporters we can help drive negative media our way.
Stand behind the club and support it and watch us thrive in two years.
Our list is still so young, but the young players we have will be good. Give it time people, tonight was the Premiers at near full strength and the wooden spooners battling to field a team haha

We need skilled players and in a hurry!
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

38 times inside 50 to 2 marks.
what type of duck poo is this. I'm not even asking the question. there is no question mark. it's just duck poo. rhetorical.
surely White and Lee should be giving us something to get remotely excited about this time of year. but I'm glad the match day experience was awesome.
even though he's young we're going to miss Webster.

Re: Saints v Hawthorn
Team rules my arse, didn't see it against Essendon, it's called extreme pressure and lack of confidence in your kicking skills. I was at the game and over and over again players took poor options because they doubted their ability to hit a target 40 metres away.WinnersOnly wrote:Team rules Con I am really having doubts re our coaching/development staff. Added to this was the brilliant defensive pressure by Hawthorn.
We were boys playing against men who have played together for the past 5 years.
The greates coach in the world would've got the same result
