Giles always seems to go well against us but apart from that we should win by a fair margin. Although Josh Freezer might cool us down if we start running hot.
Interest this week is to see how Hugh, Saunders, Sinclair, Minchy, Holmesy go. Its also a game Id like to see Acres dominate.
I thought Lewis Pierce would get a run but I guess they want game time in Hickey and the whole footy world is keen to see Holmesy at the moment so thats how it goes.

10-15 goal win should be our aim. Hopefully a bit of confidence for our players.

There IS a name that is not on this list AND wasn't on their list in 2012 and isn't on their injury list. INTERESTING !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

If we lose we play last year's premiers.
If we win, we play the previous year's premiers.

So I guess the washup is something like this.

INJURED: Billings, Gilbert, Murdoch, Ray, Roberton, Savage, Simpkin, Siposs, Webster
UNAVAILABLE: Riewoldt
NOT IN SIDE: Markworth, McKenzie, Payne (r), Pierce, Schneider (r), White

According to one Essendon expert/insider/member/supporter/fan/hirdologist on BF, he spoke to a trainer type who told him the player involved hurt himself slightly at a recent training session.

Nothing to see......

8-)

Markworth is injured with a shoulder. So 9 injuries all from the senior list.

Seriously a bit of a worry regarding White. Clearly on the outer.

Certainly lazy and just may not be good enough. He only got a one year contract so that suggests the club doesn't have huge confidence especially with Lee getting 2 years. Its the best possible side we can have out there this week against a bunch of young kids and not very good players. We really should smash them especially with a game under our belt.

Both Lewis and Spencer have a VERY SLIGHT tight calf. Both trained during the week, as did Marksworth, but with the current soft tissue injuries it's better not to risk them.

I think Spencer has definite talent. I would guess they are pushing him with the shorter contract. His skills and athleticism are top notch but the motivation seems a bit low from the clubs perspective obviously. I'm glad to hear it's a minor injury thing not a vote of no confidence.

I don't think the green vest means injured.

No Daniel McKenzie again, no mention of him on the injury list.

Has anyone heard anything as to why he isn't playing or are they just saving him for the game against the Hawkers on the 19th March.

I don't understand why everyone is saying we will smash them. This isn't the Werribee thirds. Its some solid talent and big bodied guys used to the rough and tumble of the AFL. Ok so they haven't trained together much but they are professional footballers - they will know the usual running patterns, defensive cover, spreading, how to bottle it up etc. And we are an incredibly inexperienced team missing some of our top players. Sure some of our young players were running on the top of the ground last week but I bet you this week they are feeling sore in muscles they didn't even know they had and struggle to run the same way after their first genuine hit out of the year in the Brissy heat. And young teams are notoriously unpredictable, looking competitive one week and completely lost the next. I see this as being really close and if they pip us I wouldn't really care much. Richo will probably doing some chopping and changing and experimenting like last week.
