Thanks for the insight. Will Blake Acres be on the same flight?

Actually think Lee has some very good work unnoticed. Has marked and centred to McCartin twice when he could have taken shots on goal himself. He will play some good senior footy and with some luck will be 26 with 40 to 50 games and 100 goals when Riewoldt retires. If he does, he will stay on the list. Maybe not as a walk up start but as very solid back up.
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

Lee is there until White finally matures and Paddy has 50 games under his belt. We don't have a choice. I tend to agree that he isn't vigorous enough, but the decision was made to draft him and we need a tall in the foward line. We can't feed McCartin to the lions (pardon the pun), and White needs at least one or two more years of development until he can hold down a spot. Not that Lee is much better than White at this stage but we can't afford to stuff White up by overplaying him at the expense of building his confidence in the reserves when required.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

Will Pamela be joining him? Motley crew might come along for the gig as well.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Gee, I don't know if I'd write him off that quickly. I think he's stuck in between...
He's mobile by state league standard but not by AFL standards. He's big and strong by state league standard but not by AFL standards.
You need to be exceptional at one or the other if you're going to make it. Mobility will be the reason McCartin makes it, perhaps Membrey too.
He's a potential 75+ goal forward in the VFL because he ticks the physical boxes at that level. Right now, he'd be lucky to kick 35+ in a full, 22-game AFL season.
Lee simply has to add the competitive beast element to his game. You don't have to clunk one in every pack, but you do have to crash it and create a spillage for others to seize upon. Seriously, that alone could save his career.
Another issue is that he's not that big. He's 194cm. That makes him the same height as Dylan Roberton and Sam Gilbert.
There's things I really like about him and he does seem a confidence player. There's lots of pieces to his game that, at the moment, don't add up.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Re: Tommy Lee will be back in the WAFL in 2 years time!
Where and how do you fit Lee into this???
HF : Billings-------Bruce-------Dunstan
FF : Templeton---Riewoldt---Membrey
And then you also have in the wings...
Paddy, White, Saad and Lonie who will all be demanding a spot in the starting 22 before the end of this season. Unless Lee can re-invent himself as our CHB, he is gone!!
I guess if Richo decides to play Rooey on the wing for his last 2 seasons then Lee could play at full forward. But you could mount a case for White to take that spot.
No matter which way you look at it, Lee is GAWN.

Re: Tommy Lee will be back in the WAFL in 2 years time!
Well I'm not convinced they will line up like that but without thinking too hard if there is an injury ..yes it happens ...he slides straight in ..not rocket science .
Re: Tommy Lee will be back in the WAFL in 2 years time!
Has Dunstan ever lined up on a forward flank at AFL level? He's an inside mid.
Re: Tommy Lee will be back in the WAFL in 2 years time!
.....and that also makes him 1cm taller than Rooey and he does alright.evertonfc wrote:Another issue is that he's not that big. He's 194cm. That makes him the same height as Dylan Roberton and Sam Gilbert.
I think his main problem is that he's just not confident enough to take the game on. He has to make his presence felt, then he'll become a better player IMO.

Lee gets two year contract and white only one,,White has a good year and yo watch freo swoop,,,,,,

Just going to put this out there, I don't think Billings or Dunstan will be in those positions in 3 years time. You could almost say the same for Membrey and Templeton as well.citywest wrote: HF : Billings-------Bruce-------Dunstan

Judge Lee at the end of the year ..not now . He will need 5 or 6 games this year to test himself out with an eye to 2016 , yes the jury is out on him but he has been badly injured the last few years , which psychologically damages you as a player as you dont trust your body so your our mindset is out of balance . he needs more time to prove himself before we can judge personally I think he will come good for what it's worth .

He was absolutely useless yesterday and if we are at least wanting our youngens to show something, even competitiveness, he failed.Joe Bloggs wrote:Judge Lee at the end of the year ..not now .
