Geez that's not good at all for the young 'un. Sliding doors.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Terrible news for him...but there is no evidence to suggest that he would have done it training with us.bergsone wrote:Dodged a bullet there ? Bad luck for the boy

Why did we dodge a bullet? If we had have chosen Petracca he would not have been training at the place he did his knee.bergsone wrote:Dodged a bullet there ? Bad luck for the boy
Or are you saying he has diagnosed chronically bad ACL's?
We dodged nothing, it is just pure bad luck is all.

Re: Petracca out for year.
What it does do is highlight the randomness and fickleness of AFL footy and injuries, and why some were a bit silly to work themselves into a lather pre-draft about our own selections’s known medical issues.Bunk_Moreland wrote:Why did we dodge a bullet? No worries. You are correct. Look how long Markworth has taken.bergsone wrote:No need to all to jump down my throat,he has done it now,and no guanatee he will come back as good as could have been
May not see Pertracca's true potential until maybe 2017

Re: Petracca out for year.
You never know. - if he does it a couple more times in his career is that just bad luck or is he prone to doing his knee.Bunk_Moreland wrote:Why did we dodge a bullet? I don't get these posts at all. Where is the evidence he had bad knees? I just feel for the kid. Didn't even cross my mind about us dodging anything.

Which suggests it probably wouldn't have happened with us so we probably dodged no bullets.

Good for our Paddy. Gives him his first year with no one vs. two discussions.

C'mon P66, I am sure Paddy McCartin would be thinking, wow thank god no 1 v 2 discussion this year when he first heard about Petracca.
All footballers concentrate on this sort of stuff and not training. Don't you know that?

Re: Petracca out for year.
I will go out on a limb and say McCartin will have a better year then Petracca
Re: Petracca out for year.
It does take off some external pressure off Paddy from a supporter point of view, as many (including myself) will naturally compare the 2 as we were closely linked with CP for so long (rightly or wrongly)Bunk_Moreland wrote:plugger66 wrote:saintspremiers wrote:Good for our Paddy. Doubt it would worry Paddy and he would be devastated for CP as it would hit home how quickly your dream can become a nightmare.
If it is revealed he has chronically weak ACL's or more predisposed to them and they only can pick up on this after the fact, then maybe we did dodge a bullet, however, I doubt this is the case!

Lucky we didn't take the bloke with the bung shoulders in 2001 draft!
