looking for old saints games 1982-1986
Guys
I am a vfl/afl video collector, and i am currently trying to collect a copy of every single televised home and away game for the era of 1982-1995. I just need a further 44 more games to go.
I am after several st kilda games for the period of 1982-1986, especially a couple of early games v swans at scg.
Does anyone on here have any old games from these years on tape somewhere, that they would let me possibly borrow so i can copy for myself?
I have tried name a game/sports delivered/afl video - no good. i have tried the club, the afl, ch 2, ch 7, youtube, ebay, torrents, facebook etc.
I need to find someone who has old tapes from that period, these games i am looking for cannot be commercially obtained.
any assistance would be greatly appreciated
thank you

Re: looking for old saints games 1982-1986
The spiteful 1983 game Swans V Saints at SCG should be easy to find - famous for Jacko going beserk and kicking 10 goals in a very high scoring match and blowing kisses to a baying crowd; also shows a young Tony Lockett in a cameo booting a couple of nice sausage rolls.
The 1984 Swans v Saints at SCG was important historically for the St.KFC. - St. Kilda facing being wound up in the following week due to bankruptcy, before the scheme of arrangement was accepted - but the young Saints despite having little future to play for galvanised under Trevor Barker and Robbie Mace - and then demonstrated their resilience by easily accounting for the Swans.
I have seen highlights of the 'Jacko' game regurgitated regularly on channel 7.

i have the 84 scg game in full, but i am after the 83 scg game, cant find it anywhere, also after the return game at moorabbin, r16, won by the saints, and it was televised, as it was a split round over 2 weeks, 3 games each week.
cheers

The club had a box of old game videos they were selling at Linton St in that garage sale type thing they did. Might be worth a call?

Look, this may be a long shot, but one guy you might want to contact is Jacko himself - he is a massive self promoter and that 83 SCG game was probably the second most famous match of his career - maybe ask him if he can get you a copy.

Maybe they were never produced.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

The cub bought up all the tapes from this era and destroyed them.
It's like that old Bolshevik photo where Lenin had Troskty removed from the image.
It just didn't happen.

Surely with today's technology we can edit and splice and win all those games!
