Good post. I agree!plugger66 wrote:What those picks do ensure is we finish bottom the next 2 years but maybe pick up very quickly after that. Very risky picks. Huge gambles that may pay off. Worth it after 140 years of failure.
Get in the KPPs while we can, as they're saying the next 2 drafts are going to be light-on for KPPs.
There will always be good mids in every draft. Smart recruiting by our boys IMO.
Re: Welcome to the Saints Goddard!
You sad sack! Last year Goddard was being touted as potential number one pick and no professional recruiter thinks that McCartin was not a worthy number one. You would have been one of those who complained about our picks last year as well.plugger66 wrote:Very risky picks.
The next two drafts are stacked with quality mids and no key position players have yet established themselves in the top order.

What a weird post. You pick part of what I said and even then it doesn't make me a sad sack. It does make your post weird though. And I didn't complain about last year. I didn't complain about this year. Strange. Weird.

Hugh Goddard comes across as a seriously mature 18yo both mentally and physically.

Re: Welcome to the Saints Goddard!
I heard a draft expert on SEN say McCartin has been top three since under sixteens, so he's no mysterious guy in black on a horse.
Bainesy said Hugh was touted as a potential number one 18 months ago. Matt Anderson had him going at seven.
Really stoked with God's. Will be fun excitedly saying the name again (rather than thinking 'handsomely paid apologist who will see no glory').

Re: Welcome to the Saints Goddard!
If he is a solid defender who does his job then he will be a good get. Hugh had a very ordinary 2014 and one good game in defence in the Champs saved him big time. Lets keep in in perspective.Con Gorozidis wrote:Hugh Goddard comes across as a seriously mature 18yo both mentally and physically.

Agree. We need to keep our pants on about all our recruits. Even our 2nd year guys have a long way to go.Jimmy O'Dea wrote:If he is a solid defender who does his job then he will be a good get. The new Goddard is HG. I believe it stands for hungry guts. Will be the best player to wear the number 33 for St.Kilda
