there is a second smaller article next to the Armo double page in the herald Sun about Gears speaking to the group but it's not linking online

apparently the only ones not to arrive by now are Nick Savage and of course Saad not able to till Jan or feb

The Saints spent Sunday making the most of several adventure activities offered at this spectacular lake resort town. In the morning they took on a 33-kilometre mountain bike ride, following by some white water rafting on the Kawarau River (in between the aptly named Lake Dunstan and Lake Hayes).

Both activities were not without incident.

The boat that included the coach briefly lost its instructor overboard, while defender Josh Bruce had his GoPro camera disappear into the rapids.

“I actually had it chest mounted, but I decided to get one of the club’s media guys to attach it to the helmet,’’ Bruce said. “I’m not sure that he did it properly — not that I’m laying any blame — but in the shenanigans that ensued in the water it somehow went missing.’’

The bike ride was won by Sean Dempster and Josh Saunders, who powered on about five kilometres past the finish line before their guide managed to catch up and tell them to stop.

“I came in just behind those two,’’ Bruce said, “and when I got to the finish they weren’t there, so I was a bit confused. We finished up at a bungee platform, so I thought they might have decided to take a jump.

“Turns out they’d kept riding and done an extra four or five kilometres. They were a bit flat about it.’’

Siposs aside. This trip looks like a roaring success. Great training venues. Great photos. Great for Tourism NZ (who pitched in some cash).

Not sure about ice on Sippo

Good start for the Dynamic Duo with Goddard being out marked in a contested marking drill by...Billy Longer (who I think didn't take a mark all year) who gave Hugh a blood nose (thanks for that) and Big Mac slipping over in his first marking contest against Seb Ross both being eliminated in the drill. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

I don't actaully care which shoulder in terms of left or right, but which shoulder in terms of, is it the one he had season ending surgery on? I suspect that it is(?)

But regardless, I hope it turns out to be only a minor hiccup for Arryn.
