Re: Our favourite Saint - Peckett or Goddard - Vote now.
Liked Peckett a lot, but will never forget BJ's efforts in 2009 and 2010. One more put in like him and we would have saluted twice.

This is the first kind of tough one
Goddard is pbly the better player... But Peckett's the more loyal servant and a better Saint
Hmm

Justin Peckett was underrated by some, but not by me. He was skilful on both sides and very accurate on his preferred with a 60 metre pass. He could take an overhead contested mark against players who were taller. He wasn't fast, but wasn't slow either. He was at his peak in 1997-99 and was great at what we now call spreading. He is one of my favourite players of the last 30 years because of his consistency, attitude, fairness and talent.

Was a huge loss in the 05 prelum

IMO this is a bigger upset than AJax getting beaten at 40 to one on in a race. Loved Frankie but BJ surely has him covered by some margin and I am Justin Peckett.

I guess this may be the start of the debate of defining what constitutes better players

I thought the OP was about who was a favourite not who was the better player. Franky for me as a favourite and BJ as the better player - only just.

I voted late - didn't realize it was already closed!BakesFan wrote:Poll is reading 22-22 ..... I hope Frankie wins it.
Loved Frankie but loved Goddard more (was going to say BJ but realized what it looked like!)
Re: Peckett 51% Goddard 49%
Now reading 24-22 in favour of Goddard... was the poll closed when kosifantutti called it?

As he is running it I would say 100% yes.

I haven't voted on any of these. Saving it for a casting vote if necessary. If it had come down to it, frankie would have still won.plugger66 wrote:BakesFan wrote:Now reading 24-22 in favour of Goddard... was the poll closed when kosifantutti called it?

Re: Peckett 51% Goddard 49%
As per others I voted BJ as he was obviously the better player and his best was AAA+.
But if I saw the two of them separately in the street I would be far more inclined to walk over to Justin and say hello.

Sheesh
The poll doesn't specify it based on talent... the term used is favorite
I like Peckett more than Goddard
I think Goddard is 10 folds the better player
