I am still concerned he is better suited to footy a few years back, Milne was one of the very few recently who made it as a specialist small forward that didn't have midfield time.

I'm not a huge Saad fan but there is definitely a role for the small forward. Yes, it's been diminished but it isn't entirely obsolete. I could name players in every squad that are dedicated small forward. And looking at the current make up of our list, our brainstrust certainly sees value in small forwards.

And I'm in the 'rate him' party.

I suspect his form drop would've been linked to worry about the impending announcement of having failed that Viking test, and hasn't it also been posted on here that he was carrying an injury... shoulder or something(?) Can anyone help on that count?

Finally, I have no inside knowledge, but I'm tipping that in 2015 we'll get to see the newly developed Ahmed Sasd left foot.

So the suggestion is that Carlton were going to take him later in the Rookie Draft but St Kilda beat them to it. Whether Saad did not want to return to Saints is interesting!

My best guess on the Sheahan stuff is that when Saad was interviewed by the blues, and in light of him wanting to get back 'somewhere', he said he'd welcome starting a fresh at a new club. By the time this tidbit filtered to the media's bottom feeders it had somehow become that he was desperate for a 'new' start, which Saad probably never implied.

I heard the SEN interview and found it very encouraging. Ahmed came across as very excited to be back, and his enthusiasm for rejoining the Saints was palpable. For what it's worth, I'm more than happy to read a positive story regarding this young man. Go Ahmed!

Great to have the Marquis back at the Saints. He's an infectious character and loved buy the other players.
