Tom Lamb at 21 or 22
Not sure which players have been earmarked by Tony Elshaug and Ameet Bains for picks 21/22 but I've had a look at a couple of highlight reels for Tom Lamb and seriously this guy could be anything
Who said there's no room for sentiment in footy? His grandfather Ian Cooper was a Saints champ and played in the 66 grand final.......sounds like Tom and his family are all Saints supporters and he was saying he'd love to get to the club.
He's definitely got the X Factor and is supremely talented, can play forward and back, the only knock on him is that he can be inconsistent and drifts in and out of games........can be easily fixed I would have thought. Come on guys, make it happen!
Would be a commentator's nightmare having both Tom and Eli in the same jumper with their long blond locks

Yep, that's what I've been hearing as well.....inconsistent effort.....I'm sure he'll get the support he needs to make sure he gives his all 100% of the time for the mighty red white and black.

Re: Tom Lamb at 21 or 22
I haven't watched too many of the draft player profile vids - watched Lambs - I can't imagine too many of kids are so openly putting it out there that they want to join a particular club. Saw on one 'fantasy' draft he was rated no.15 maybe he is hoping he can slide to 21 by saying he is very keen to go to st kilda. I think I would be pretty happy if we got him

Emma Quayle mentioned Lamb as an option, and she is a guru.

Apparently the word out of his home club at Edi-Asp is that he will go to Bummers at pick 17

Re: Tom Lamb at 21 or 22
A lot of people have said he's an enormous d**khead but a lot seems to come from him screwing up a scholarship at Haileybury or something. There are knocks on how he fits because he's athletic but not KPP or mid sized and so is a Goddard sized utility type with good endurance but not really sure where he'd play. Bontempelli had the same problem last year though.
Re: Tom Lamb at 21 or 22
From what I've heard he's one of those guys who could smash it in the right environment - but in the wrong place he'll be worse than a dud. If we pick him up, tell Rooey to beat him into line over the next couple of years. If he can't do it, no-one can.Devilhead wrote:The last thing our club needs is a mecurially talented inconsistent headcase

Re: Tom Lamb at 21 or 22
I'm feeling a bit excited about the prospect of Lamb falling to us.
Attitude you can fix. As the kid matures, with a seemingly decent group of peers around him, those issues will dissappear.
He has sublime talent. If you're in doubt, watch his Draft Profile vid on Youtube (thru the Saints channel), and take a look at his one-handed pack mark. He leaps, sticks one hand up like he's at first slip, grabs the ball and pulls it down to his chest. No bobble, no need for the other hand, just exquisite ball handling.
I know recruiting is based on more than Youtube videos, but watching that 3 minute snippet has convinced me he's a really good get in the 2nd round.

Last player I remember with the "d***head" label was Jack Darling. He was a very naughty boy as a student but has certainly matured well.gringo wrote:A lot of people have said he's an enormous d**khead but a lot seems to come from him screwing up a scholarship at Haileybury or something. I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

She's a good journalist. Hopefully it's not long until she takes Wilson's place in becoming the game's leading female journalist.saintspremiers wrote:Emma Quayle mentioned Lamb as an option, and she is a guru.
