Spring St sources say a funding increase could happen as early as this weekend as part of the Liberal Party’s pre-election promises, but the government denies it will lift its current $10 million to a mooted $25 million.
The deal, however, as reported in the Herald Sun in April, might still depend on a “white knight” with one wealthy St Kilda Football Club identity thought to be in discussions."
"Prominent St Kilda supporters include trucking magnate Lindsay Fox, Jayco Caravans boss Gerry Ryan and restaurateur Frank van Haandel."
As I said before Plugger, the money men want a return on their investment. Bailing out the Saints debt is a loss for them. That's why the money men have lots of money.

Then this is all about money. Can you explain how they get a return? We need our debt paid off before anything else.
Football and sports in general are just an avenue for laundering money....there aren't too many winners. The move to the JO will attract some big money people...this move has profile.

It has me feeling a bit excited.
No matter how excited you get Fireman, remember to treat your hose with respect.

Does anyone know whether the Junction redevelopment has bi-lateral support from Labor? Labor are ahead in the polls, I wonder whether this project is contingent upon Liberal retaining Gov't?

Not sure. I think they will be working both sides. Labs seem more likely to support Moorabbin youd think but cricket will need a home regardless.
Interesting times.

Last I heard, yes, bi-Laboral support.
Whew! Saves me from having to vote Tory.
Oh wait up, no Tory candidate standing in my electorate this time around. This will be really interesting. Dick Wynne in real trouble... the inevitable looms.

Probably finally realised how tough financing is when you have a stadium deal like Etihad. Great outone but I don't like the prospects of the Labour government supporting this.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Dont think it is definite. Could be years off if ever. May not happen if the Labs win the election. Just unknown at this stage. Seems to have gone quiet.

I heard that too Kosi.
Very strange. What's wrong with the JO wicket right now, or the Albert Ground... just for starters...?
And surely there are heaps of grounds all around Victoria that could host a Shield match crowd of 20-odd fans and family...?
That said, this strange revelation can increase our leverage... they need the JO, and to get CV there, CV needs us.

just to let everyone know....firey will have a 2015 calender ready for sale at the start of dec
each month is a diff pic of firey with his hose, truck and his ibanez strategically placed in each photo somewhere in the background
all proceeds go towards the "Ibanez guitar players fund"
after all, these guys need all the help they can get
Bunk_Moreland wrote:Ballarat will be the new governments priority.
JO may go to the backburner as far as govt funding goes.
Yeah, that Ballarat one is a bit strange. Apparently the ground is ~4kms from the train station, making it a complicated trip for anyone who doesn't drive.
And the Poodles playing home games there(?) If I was them, I'd be trying to get hold of some of that $31 million to do up Poodle Park, and play a few games back again. (Godwin G, you still out there...? )
