TDL was the returned favour.

With Membrey as a DFA and with the picks in the ND we will not take another DFA or PSD unless we delist another player.

Seems like the strategy is to use the rookie list as a reserves list for LTI.

Lets face it, almost our whole list is a development list, do we need four more in the rookie list?

McKernan
Petrenko
Schneider

all replacements for LTI's.

Still may leave us one rookie spot for a Daniel type speculative selection.

I can see where the Saints are going with this strategy. We need to replace out of form or injured players with a young listed player, then we have blokes who can fill in for LTI's.

Obvious the three named above wont be developed. They will serve Saints long term purpose and they get to play football for an AFL club.

Interesting

But we will need to cut one more (or pass at 41) if we want to use No. 1 in the pre-season draft.

We won't need to cut anyone else.
We have delisted/traded numbers 4,7,8,13,28,32,33,37,38 -a total of 9
We have upgraded 4 rookies which leaves us draft picks 1,21,22,41 and PSD #1 (Membrey)

If we want a pick in the PSD we will need to cut someone else. Membrey is arriving as DFA.

OK

Exactly!

Now who is next on the chopping block?

My guess is Siposs.

Surely we'll want to have PSD pick 1 available???

Siposs is contracted for next season -would we have to pay him out if we delisted him?

PSD is not that valuable any more due to FA in its various caetegories.

In essence the FA allows players to get to any club, and this undermines the value of having an early PSD selection.

Exactly. We talked about taking Membrey in the PSD but since the Swans delisted him we won't need to. I expect we won't be delisting anyone else and won't have a pick in the PSD.
