Been the whisper on Bigfooty for 24 hours, but nothing confirmed.Burkey 1 wrote:I saw on a News report that Luke is in it up to the eyeballs for the Bulldogs coaching job, can anyone shed anymore light on this....Gee, I hope we don't lose him before he gets started in his new role with us, it will be a big blow.
Supposedly Leigh Tudor close as well, but Beveridge the name being mentioned by journo's.
Re: Luke Beveridge
I think there's someone occasionally on this forum that may actually be able to help you out with this question, living nearby Beverage. His/her name just escapes me at the moment.

Luke Beveridge is brewing as the likely front runner for the Bulldogs coaching position. Likely to be between him and Brett Montgomery.

Well, let's hope they do what Bulldogs usually do and go with the homegrown option.saintbrat wrote:Wayne Ludbey. retweeted

Although I'm a bit worried that they've been making noisies over at the kennel about getting out of their homegrown comfort zone ...

Great for him though. Still don't see the point of sacking McCartney and then getting another unproven coach though.

Yep Dir of Coaching. But yeah would be a bit of a blow. We will be looking at two fairly important/high positions. And its not so easy hiring people in November. Most people are locked into contracts in October. I was quite bullish about Luke at the Saints.chook23 wrote:I think Luke's title is Director of coaching.Con Gorozidis wrote:Poor result for us ud think.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Thanks St B. That article nicely backs-up my point re ol' balloon-neck and 'when it suits'.saintbrat wrote:Dave McNamara wrote:Of course we should Chris, but, unlike some, we have class.St Chris wrote:As long as we DEMAND compensation.....

Re: Luke Beveridge
That will certainly be a blow to us. You'd think it would be almost impossible to find a replacement of any worth at this point in the year. The replacement would have to be essentially unemployed which doesn't fill you with confidence.
I understand Eddie's frustration — clubs plan and prepare with certain people in certain positions and when another club comes and undermines you at the 11th hour it is very destabilising. Saints paid compensation to Port for Richo, and Port paid compensation to GC for Hinkley.
Anyone care to write up a shortlist of replacements or are we going to go in undermanned for a year?

Did we really pay compo to Port? I don't remember hearing about that.FQF wrote:I understand Eddie's frustration — clubs plan and prepare with certain people in certain positions and when another club comes and undermines you at the 11th hour it is very destabilising. In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
