I think maybe there is an agreement between the AFL and clubs for clubs not to reveal who they are going to pick. Just to keep interest up for the draft media coverage etc. Most likely the Saints have already settled on the Pet man.

I'd say you're spot on and they would've signed him up already and have started the induction process. But let's also be brutally frank here. If CP was to have an unfortunate accident between now and Draft Day, and receive career threatening injuries, we'd be foolish to call out his name.
We need to pick out the best option as at 27 November 2014, not the best option as of today.
Things can change for any number of reasons.
