Re: Is Pelchen sticking around?
Caro clearly saying that he did not quit but was told in advance that he wouldn't be part of a restructure and has since been looking for a new job.
It is all very strange given the outward importance the club placed on him as a key part of the rebuild. I think an explanation is owing...

why have him around a table discussing draft prospects for the the up coming draft and have it up on the saints site for all to see if he was not going to be part of the friggin drafting?
explanation indeed is required

Re: Is Pelchen sticking around?
Also, why is the club saying that a replacement will now be searched for. Surely if this has been planned for a while, they have a replacement ready to go.
Re: Is Pelchen sticking around?
Have had my doubts about Alan, not being strong enough and a shadow of Chris...
might be the making of him
might be the making of him

So much for thinking we'd have a pre-season without major upheaval

Reckon he was instrumental in sticking the knives in. Bains is making a little empire dowen at the Saints.saintspremiers wrote:More significant in the article and of long term value to us is the promotion of Bains.
I reckon he's the key off field at our club, and is now 2nd banana to Finnis I assume
Look out any recruiter taking Pelchans job. Suck up to Bains or you will be gone.
You are garbage - Enough said

SOS was a great player and great assistant coach for us, but it's hard to tell if he's doing a good job in list management at GWS.SainterK wrote:SOS to return?FQF wrote:Also, why is the club saying that a replacement will now be searched for. Sell us the dream, then sack him. Hopeless. Losing faith. Why can't we have stability ??

Re: Is Pelchen sticking around?
Let's be clear - Chris Pelchen was head of football.
He was not head of list management - that (was and partly still is) Ameet Bains.
He was not head of recruiting - that's Tony Elshaug.
He was not director of coaching - that's Luke Beveridge.
He was not head of development - that's Simon McPhee.
We still have stability and great people across all those key roles.
Pelchen had a significant role in list strategy in conjunction with Bains, but Bains is across the detail. Bains will retain some list management responsibilities when he takes on more of a commercial role.
We have promoted Bains because of his ability, and at least two other AFL clubs were interested in poaching him. Ameet is rated extremely highly within the industry. He's also very well liked at the club. Would not surprise me if he gets offered a CEO gig in the next two years. For the first time in a long time, we have developed an outstanding performer from within.
