Reading all these posts makes me realize why St Kilda has drowned in mediocrity for their entire 150 year history. Actually it's not mediocrity it's is down right crapiness. Twenty seven wooden spooks in 118 years. I think the Petracca connection with Richo played a role but the other factor was the Pelican and co were afraid to pull the trigger. They went the safe option. As I said in another post, you must dare to win and we (Pelican) didn't dare.

Fair enough but you get a lot more credibility if you just said you made everything because you wanted it to happen. You may end up right but you could also end up wrong. We were losing 21 and 1 for 4 and 7. Doesn't make it an open and shut case that we should have taken it at all. Maybe the most courageous thing was keeping pick one.

Jaxons told us we were offered 4+7 for 1+21...

So, basically, the offer of 1 for 4+7 was never offered to us...

If we were offered 4+7 for 1, and were allowed to keep 21.. maybe we would have taken it

It seems we have some degree of confidence in getting decent players with 21+22, because 1+21 was considered better than 4+7 by our recruiters
