1. In what capacity does he 'know' them?
2. Does knowing someone mean you want to coach their kid? Its not like Pet isn't going to get drafted anyway- so Richo isn't doing him a favour.
3. Does Richo have any power at all over Pelchen when it comes to trading/drafting?

I have heard it a bit different CW. AR is actually Petraccas dad. The guy who thinks is his real dad is actually his grandmother. It get really complicated after that but PM me and I will inform you of the rest of it. If I was Tony Abbott I wouldn't want to be around Petraccas Grandmother tomorrow. Just saying.
Re: So the truth comes out why we didn't accept picks 4 and
There are a lot of smart arses on this forum......
Paige Cardona's Phantom Draft....This is what we could have had but obviously Petracca is better than both of them combined.
Pick 4: Greater Western Sydney – Peter Wright
Position: Key forward/ruckman
Height: 203 cm, Weight: 102 kg, DOB: 08/09/1996
Club: Calder Cannons
Projected draft range: Top five
Plays like: Kurt Tippett
The loss of Jonathan Giles and Tom Boyd during the trade period means that the Giants are in the hunt now for replacements: with Peter Wright, they get the best of both worlds. Whilst draft watchers are still conflicted as to which position Wright will eventually settle, he’s at his most damaging when played forward given his sheer agility, mobility and rare clean hands below the knees. There aren’t many other talls who have the mobility and athleticism that Wright has: in particular, his marking game makes him a focal target, and his efficiency in front of goals is arguably the best available in the draft. Wright gets monstrous purchase on the football, coupled with rare accuracy and depth – he is more than comfortable with a set shot from 50, adding to his hurt factor. Affectionately known as two-metre Peter, Wright’s tap work as a ruckman also rates as one of the best. He gobbles up hitouts, palms the ball down the throat of his rovers and, more importantly, follows up his own work while he also isn’t afraid to lay a tackle. Whilst he’s not naturally an aggressive player, he’s shown when challenged he has an inner competitive streak.
Player update: Wright suffered a knee injury in the preliminary final and was lucky not to have torn his ACL. He missed the TAC Cup Grand Final a week later, and has been rehabbing since then, not partaking in the combine. He’s a week or so away from full fitness, and will be able to attack a club’s pre-season.
Pick 7: Greater Western Sydney – Paul Ahern
Position: Midfielder/forward
Height: 181 cm, Weight: 77 kg, DOB: 01/08/1996
Club: Calder Cannons
Projected draft range: 5-15
Plays like: Dale Thomas
One of the busiest yet exciting and damaging players you’ll watch in this year’s draft, Paul Ahern is a goal-kicking midfielder with a knack of making things happen when he’s around. His vision and awareness through traffic is top-shelf, as are his foot skills. He finds targets short or deep, and importantly can do either off a step. He has great spatial awareness, which – coupled with incredible explosive speed and agility – makes him such a dangerous player with ball in hand. Around the packs, he has clean hands and an uncanny ability to slip out of tackles before taking off from a stoppage. He is lethal around goal and kicks goals on the burst, with his pace and link up work the focal points of his game. He is an important avenue to goal with score involvements and assists, being Vic Metro’s highest in both statistics. He’s shown he can stand up in big games, notching 26 disposals and a goal in Calder’s Grand Final loss. He has a big endurance base which has reflected his transition running up and down the field, becoming a chase-and-tackle player, really adding to his defensive mechanisms to round out his game. However, it’s his gut running and unrewarded running that’ll really be of note to his coaches at the next level.

Well if she says it then its fact. Im still worried for Tony Abbott. You do provide humour though which is good for us all.

Re: So the truth comes out why we didn't accept picks 4 and
So Richardson's kids go to the same school at Petracca, confirmed.
Petracca is considered the best of this years draft by most scribes. Most consider him the most outstanding midflelder, he is considered a gun.
We need a gun midfielder.
Pick 4 & pick 7 should get us a couple of decent kids, but not considered as good as Petracca.
Richardson is only part of the selection panel.
I'm happy we kept the #1 pick, and I sure hope we draft Petracca.

If it was such a one sided deal, you have to wonder why GWS offered it. Maybe they didn't read any of the reviews of players after Petracca.

I'd prefer pick one over 4 and 7 if we are confident 1 will be a gun.
Even pick 7 is hit and miss and four can be too

Re: So the truth comes out why we didn't accept picks 4 and
Talk about a load of crap. it was common knowledge that Richardson children go to the same school.
Do you honestly expect us to believe that after the club sacked Watters for basically trying to control the football department that Pelchen, Bains and co have allowed Richardson to do the same.
The sad thing is you can say what you like and their is no accountability. Bains and Peclchen stated all along that it would take an exceptional offer to give up pick one, 4 and 7 was not exceptional.
One day I am going to die of shock as City West posts something that resembles fact or is in fact positive.

Another fabricated lie after the facts had emerged. The 4 & 7 thing was out doing the rounds before your other post. Now this crap which I heard on TWR at the start of trade week

Whats more, I have heard Cameron from GWS knows the Wright family, hates them, and forced SoS to offer four and seven for one.plugger66 wrote:citywest wrote:This is not the saddest thread. When it was rejected apparently he went over to Bigfooty, read Paige's phantom draft and was assured by Paul Ahern because the Scully's know him and reckon he is a good bloke.
Still really pissed off that he will have to take Wright and there is huge tension @GWS because of it.

Four and seven for one was being discussed right at the beginning of Trade Week and was dismissed then.Ross who? wrote:Another fabricated lie after the facts had emerged. The 4 & 7 thing was out doing the rounds before your other post. Now this crap which I heard on TWR at the start of trade week

Richo knows the Petracca family personally and has done so for years.
And..........
Go back and read the threads. Most posters were saying that picks 4 and 7 were not enough for Petracca.
Some may have though 4, 6 and 7 or 1 + 22 for 4, 6 and 7
Some 4, 6 and 19
Some wanted a GWS player or two thrown in.
Not sure there were many fans of 1 for 4 and 7.

Looks like I'm in a fair bit of trouble. I know a kid who goes to "that" school AND played with Petracca at "that" TAC Cup team !!

Re: So the truth comes out why we didn't accept picks 4 and
You'd be absolutely mad to trade a standout no. 1 pick for 4 & 7.
Especially when that standout is a big grunty, goal kicking midfielder.
And especially since we've just seen GWS swap their no. 1 pick who only averaged about 8 touches a game, for a 28yo AA Club Captain and a top 10 pick!
Even if he doesn't set the world on fire, no. 1 has great re-sale value!

we hear too much

BUT as Saints Fans we are more than ready to feel ' The other boot fall'
why can't we be more like Bomber fans- and trust blindly no matter what our club does.....

Citywest have you considered this from the other side?
GWS believe Petracca is better than what they would get at 4 and 7 hence the offer, so it is such a stretch for St. Kilda to also have the same view?

Tom Boyd or both Bontempelli & Aish?
I am satisfied we made a good decision but I dont think its absolutely utterly clear cut. There is a fair bit of uncertainty in this years draft meaning taking pick 1 seemed prudent. Time will tell.
