The club has announced that Maverick Weller has signed on for 2 years until the end of 2016 but nowhere in the article does it mention that he has been permanently upgraded off the rookie list.
He can remain on the rookie list, the club pay him whatever they like.
He can play in place of a long term injury or as a nominated rookie.

Keep him on the rookie and use pick 41 in the draft!
Chances are he might still play 20 AFL games off the Rookie List anyways.
Especially with guys like Schneider, Chips and Gilbo on the list....

How many more players need to be delisted so that we can have minimum 4 National draft picks and 1 PSD draft pick.
Worth considering we have upgraded up to 4 rookies who will also take up vacant list spots.

The Saints are also yet to decide Maverick Weller's status for 2015 after offering him a two-year contract.

They will finalise whether Weller starts next season on the senior list or as a nominated rookie in the coming weeks.


They have already announced the promotion of Eli Templeton, Cameron Shenton and Darren Minchington to the senior list.

including stanley , we have delisted 7 players...with a decision still to be made on schneider but with milera looking to be the 8th player off our list......membrey means we have 7 picks........3 upgraded rookies and 4 live picks...including pick 41...if we wish to upgrade mav then its bye bye schneides........

We cant waste that pick.
Plenty of opportunities for Weller to come on the main list asap. Hes getting paid properly anyway so it doesnt make much differenece.

don't think that there is any way that we won't draft 4 players...we won't waste the pick on weller...may delist schneider and milera though....giving us room for weller and membrey

very impressed with mav and sed ross in the sandy best and fairest count..


seb was 4th with 64 votes having played only 8 games with sandy.......mav was 8th with 41 votes having played 15 games in saints seniors.....


as has been noted seb is a cut above vfl standard...something belatedly acknowledged by the saints, whilst mav never went back to the vfl once promoted for the hawks game....

Seb looked like he was too good for the VFL at the end of last season. Mav didn't do anything wrong once he was promoted. Think the coach might like him.
