I've got a love/ hate relationship with the Trade period

When we're down the bottom of the ladder, its always intriguing to see what we can pull out

I was excited by the idea of getting 3 x 1st round draft picks for #1 but that doesn't look like it now. It sort of feels like the anticipation leading up to a birthday and then the present is a pair of thongs...

More like undies. I mean, you'll always need undies, but it's hard to get excited about.

ps...i would have thought that it would be more accurate to say that the trade period has left many supporters deflated as it has more often than not stripped the club of it's star /better players...

so let me get this straight you would have rather we kept Darryl Wakelin and not picked up Aaron Hamil ??
also with Shane Wakelin he was the one who wanted out of the saints after only playing 4 games in 2000 ...

You are probably right Stinger. We would be adding wooden spoons in about 3 seasons after we had ordinary 13-16 places so that would put us about 5 years behind where we are now.

Exactly. Pelican is about speeding up the inevitable. It's a shame some can't get that fact.

Of course the picks we get for Dal BJ Macca and Stanley won't initially be as good as what we lost. It's long term planning.

Wait until mid 2016 to judge Pelican
