We Are Not Giving Up Pick 1
I am going to make a prediction. In fact I am going to make two predictions.
GWS is not going to give up three picks to get pick 1. And St Kilda is not going to settle for anything less.
In other words if the Giants want to live up to their name they are going to have to hand over 4,6 and 7. I reckon they might have offered two out of three but we are playing hardball and insisting on three out of three.
So, that means we keep pick 1. It also means we are going to take Christian Petracca, the only guy I can see who is on our radar for that slot. I am pretty confident he is the name they want to read out rather than McCartin or Wright or Brayshaw
Clearly we rate him with good reason. He is the stand out player in the November draft by some considerable margin, when you add up all of the skills he will bring to the table. He has the X factor. The Saints know this so it is going to take something really exceptional to make the Saints give it up.
Realistically the only club that has a chance of getting pick 1 would be GWS. And unless they are prepared to pay 3 for the price of one, they don't have a deal.
Either way for the St Kilda football club this is a win win. We will either get three draft picks in the top ten, if by some miracle GWS is willing to pay overs, or we get to keep a player who I am convinced will be an absolute superstar.

We'll give them 1 and 21 for 4, 6 and 7.

Re: We Are Not Giving Up Pick 1
If 4,6,7 was really offered - we simply have to take it.
But I really doubt GWS would do that deal.
So most likely
The Pet-Detective, 21, 22
And we simply MUST nail at least one of 21/22.
If not were in deeeeep trouble. Even if Pet is a star.

We would be mad to give up the rights to Petracca for 4 & 6. Obviously need 7 to be involved to force our hand.

Re: We Are Not Giving Up Pick 1
more logical to give them 22 instead of 21 if they want an extra pickBernard Shakey wrote:We'll give them 1 and 21 for 4, 6 and 7.

Re: We Are Not Giving Up Pick 1
The Saints can give up pick 1 but at the right price.Reasonable supporters will disagree what the right price might be. For mind recruiters should go hard and if GWS cough them up I say the price is 4,6 and 7. Bit of dream I know. Go Sainters !!

Re: We Are Not Giving Up Pick 1
Pelchen has already rejected multiple picks inside 15
Clearly that was Gold Coast offering picks 8 and 15.
GWS will want to offer only 6 & 7.
This must be rejected also.

Re: We Are Not Giving Up Pick 1
I reckon, with the Boyd deal done, we will keep No. 1 so we make a certainty of drafting McCartin.
Don't rule out a late minute trade of player/s and 21/22 to GWS for at least one of their inside 10 picks.

OP was spot on. (where's the thumbs up smilie)?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!
