Gary Lyon reckons Brayshaw is a lock for Melb @2. If they pick Wright @ 3, Petracca may be @4 is Scott Lucas is correct.
Thats on the assumption Petracca is gone at 1.
If Petracca and Brayshaw are available, Melb pick Pet first, no question.

Right, this starts to add up now. I have felt that there was something fishy about the sudden announcement that Boyd wanted out at GWS. I reckon GWS played the dogs like a piano. I reckon Boyd wanted out and GWS knew it a while back, and then stage managed things to extract the maximum from the dogs, and that is why GWS have been so keen on pick 1. Being so up for Petracca doesn't make sense for a team so stocked with quality young mids. It does make sense however if there is a standout key forward, and you need to replace a quality young key forward.

i still would believe this would happen. just GWS paying absolutely too much for pick 1.

That would be amazing if we get 4 (which we take pet) and 6+7 and keep 21 and 22 as jax suggested may be a possibility earlier
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

3AW tonight speculating that a trade with GWS be it 4,6 or 4,6,7 for 1 ,21 or 4 one of 6 or 7 and a player. They believe it could still se STk pick McCartin as GWS love Petrecca, Melb want Brayshaw and favour Wright as they see MCartin too much the same as Hogan. Saints then get McCartin at 4 and midfielder (s) at 6 and or 7.
Would do 1&21 for 4,6,7 in a heart beat
That's our current position, however they want 21 as well.
We have something up our sleeve that will hopefully leave us with 21 and 22.
We won't be doing it for just 4 & 6 or 4 & 7 I guarantee you.
At worst it may be we give them 21 back, but hoping not.
Our guys love Pettracca and given we have achieved 3 picks inside 22 already, we can stand firm.
But picks 4, 6 & 7 is attractive.
Me thinks Schneider maybe the man traded... good and experienced small forward to help them..
In summary, they get a good backman (Patful), top mid (Griffen) and good small forward (Schneider)

A good small forward who is old and nearly always injured, i hope the Pelican can pull that one off.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Not quite Ellen De Generes is gay and Jennifer Lawerence is straight.

Surely not unless GWS have completely lost the plot. Why would you trade anything for a guy who's 31 at the start of next year and has played less than 15 games a year for the past three years?

Ryan Griffen is 29 at the start of next season... Schneider has been mostly injured for the past 3 seasons, so he can easily play for another 2 years.. being a small forward/half forward... you need to be smart, he can teach, protect the younger guys... provides veteran leadership... provided he can get his body right.. i think he would be a good addition for the giants.. remember they want veteran experiance and leadership... I would think Gilbert can also help them if he can get his body right.
Griggsy wrote:Wasn't Gilbert's name thrown around last year as a potential trade. cant remember how that went though
I reckon he'd be about right for them but his chronic injuries surely make it impossible for them to get medical clearance on him - similar to Trengove.
