And the compensation will be greater - two top 10 picks in an uncompromised draft compared to a pick in the mid 20's and and pick 12 in a comprmised draft!! DOn't think it's a move the Doggies would have initiated but I think they'll be better for it in the medium term!
So the bulldogs could end up with picks 4, 6, 7 26 and 27 plus whatever they get for Jones and Tutt. throw them pick 1 for 4, 6, and their highest second round pick.

Never a dull moment in Footy!
Huge. Worst case scenario we get pick 1 not that big of a deal.
Yep - Worst case scenario is we just use pick 1.
I do agree that 1 or two players is just not going to really get us anywhere - even if the one player is a gun. So i was quite happy with jaxons deal of gaining multiple high picks.
Back to the drawing board!
Trouble with this news if our strategy was as Jaxsons has indicated to go for multiple draft picks is that we have been blind-sided and may have missed out on some players that we would otherwise gone harder on.
Last year we had an out-perform in terms of rebuilding our list.
This season it may get back to just how well we use our picks.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Are we perhaps overrating Griffen here? 28 year old who has had some injury problems. Yes, very good player, but is he worth a pick and Boyd? I would have thought a high pick would do it...not both.
Griffen would have been pushed no doubt its pretty obvious. Im sure that the blokes that need to know like Pelchen would have known Griffen was moving a week or two ago at least.

Now there's a shock. Did you honesty think a deal for the first draft pick would be done a week out from deadline? Seriously? I'll give you a tip. If you have to choose between being first and being accurate, be accurate. Maybe wait till it's set in stone before announcing things and getting people's hopes up.
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Not so sure on this one
He's 28 the WB are desperate for McCartin or White they have been rumored to be looking at ways to get hold of 2 or 3. Griffen was the obvious out.
