O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
Looks like the Hawks are the favoutites to get him..
The Saints have been informed that Jono O'Rouke will NOT seek a trade to Seaford.
"Tom Petroro rang a short time ago to advise that St Kilda had run a close second in securing Jono's services. While very impressed with the club and its future prospects, after a few days of deliberation he has opted to pursue another option," says Saints chief operating officer Ameet Bains on the club's website.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

How good is he?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Re: O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
Everybody loves a winner
He probably won't see many games next year though
Hope he understands that they have peaked with their mids

Re: O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
Thinks he is Chris Judd or Buddy Franklin selecting a club like he is some kind of superstar.
Patronisingly telling the Saints "you ran a close second"
Well enjoy your games at Box Hill superstar
what an arrogant little s***.
Probably do his hamstring getting off the plane.

Re: O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
Hawthorn couldn't have offered him any more money and certainly not more game time so it obviously came down to playing for a top team versus a bottom team. Nothing we can do about that.
Won't lose any sleep of this one.

before you go off on the bloke the whole "you ran a close second" is what his manager said not him ...Bunk_Moreland wrote:Thinks he is Chris Judd or Buddy Franklin selecting a club like he is some kind of superstar.

plus i do remember the big GTrain selected Collingwood as his prefered destination to come back to Melbourne but he ended up in St Kilda colours soo just cause he has put up a preference to go to hawthorn doesnt mean he will

Re: O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
Hopefully we can say " hi" to him as we pass them going up the ladder.
By the time he is of value we might be the envy.
Players will still want to come to us. We can offer more money and game time.
Then they can leave with FA

g-train never patronised the Saints like this clown.
Anyhow Gerhig was an established AFL player, not some jumped up rookie injured bust who if he was any more outside he would have to be to get back in.
Arrogant s***. Hope he enjoys Box Hill

GREATER Western Sydney tall Kristian Jaksch appears unlikely to get to his preferred club Carlton during the NAB AFL Trade Period, with talks between the Blues and Giants grinding to a halt.
AFL.com.au understands the door has opened for St Kilda and another Victorian club to ramp up negotiations with GWS, which has not made any progress in talks with Carlton.

Well the club is buying into it as well with announcements on their website and facebook page that Jonno will not be joining us.Bunk_Moreland wrote:Who cares about something 15 years ago.st_Trav_ofWA wrote:before you go off on the bloke the whole "you ran a close second" is what his manager said not him ...Bunk_Moreland wrote:Thinks he is Chris Judd or Buddy Franklin selecting a club like he is some kind of superstar.

Re: O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
I'm with Bunk on this. If you're not interested, move on and stop wasting our time. Hope he enjoys his time in the VFL on a minimum wage.
At least Jakshe has been a bit more diplomatic, saying he has a slight preference to the Blues, knowing full well he could end up at Seaford once the trades get moving.

Re: O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
This is great news!
Early days sure, but very underwhelming record to date. Described as 'lacking hunger for the contest'... the commentator (sorry I wish I could remember which one, but was on SEN) then went on to upfront say what we all know... it's an euphemism for 'soft'.
I'd much rather the little bloke over J'OR, and he'd be cheaper as a bonus.
Jascke (sp?) looking like an uphill struggle to get to Carlscum, so I reckon we actually have the front running. Would be quite happy with him. Quite a 'potential' upside there I reckon... though a bit of a worry that anyone would wanna go to that Carlscum rabble. They still refuse to accept that chequebook recruiting is over. Hence, stuck mid-ladder, going nowhere in a real hurry. And deservedly so. Bastards!

Re: O'Rourke says No Thanks to Saints
Why is anyone wetting their pants over this guy? Is he really good? If a player says they don't fancy us, we move on. Last thing we need right now are players who don't want to be here.
Bet he would have chosen us if we trained at the JO though.
Where is that popcorn emoticon?
