Now I went to great lengths to get this info Bratty.......................... rang a deal old Sainter friend of mine in Melbourne, who is in aged care.

Poor old dear was asleep. Now she has a wealth of knowledge on all things royal...... and she is a real old Sainter from way back, what she doesn't know about the Saints is not worth knowing. Well I woke her up as it was after 8pm in Melbourne. I forgot about the time difference. By the time she put her hearing aid in and could remember who I was and get over confusion...... she came up with the answer Ross Smith, told me he was with the whole royal family and another Footscray player.

Now that better be correct Bratty, because I'm feeling guilty waking the poor dear up, it made her realise she wanted to have a wee and was then having to call for a carer to get her out of bed to get her to the loo.

Please let it be Ross Smith. Said she would call me when she remembers who the Footscray player was. Hope she doesn't remember 3.00am Perth time

I think the Footascray player was John Schultz. I vaguely recall seeing the picture in an old copy of Football Life.

I went to the MCG game in 1970 between Richmond(?) and Fitzroy when Liz and Phil were there.

Plugger kicked 5 as we won by 35 pts, in a game played on the Queens Birthday Monday I think. I remember watching it live on TV in Cairns. Plugger and Mick had a few wrestles but no reports
